Need Help - Want to rent points for Mar 11-17

Still trying to understand the concept of renting and the process. Lots of help and patience is requested. Have stayed at Caribbean and Pop before. Kids love Pop & Caribbean, Mom and Dad love Pop & Caribbean except for the beds. I would like to stay at one of the other Disney hotels/resorts, particularly, one with at least queen size beds.

However, I am not interested in paying alot of money. Also, I may be needing two rooms and/or two bedroom place because other family members might be coming.

Would really appreciate help.

The concept of renting the DVC points is basically the same as renting a room anywhere, except you are doing it from an individual and you do not have the liberal cancellation policy that you might at a regular hotel because of the point structure and their usage in the DVC. Basically, you decide what you want to rent and where, i.e., 2 studios or a 2 bedroom at OKW or SSR or Beach Club or Boardwalk during your time frame. Points are generally rented from $10 to $12 a point depending on the owner -- some cheaper if they need to be used quickly before they expire. The points can actually be used at other Disney hotels too, but the best bang for the buck is at the DVC units. For example, a OKW studio for 2 weekday nights in Jan. would cost you about $160 - $200 total depending on point costs and fees and the Rack Rate from Disney for the same stay would be about $600 including taxes.

The points to rent a room vary from resort to resort and weekday to weekend day. For the days you listed, OKW (which has queens in the studios) would be 82 points for a Sat Check in (3/11) Friday Check out (3/17) and it would be 164 for 2 studios. In contrast, a 2 bedroom would be 223 points for the same six days but it is huge (1333 sq. ft) compared to the 2 studios (376 sq ft. each). A standard view room at the Caribbean would be 136 points.
