Need Help w/ Planning Disneyland Trip--2 Adults

I'm so excited to find this board!!! My husband and I are going to a concern in Mid December in Ontario, Cal. He has never been to Disneyland and since we are already somewhat close by, I figure this is the perfect opportunity. Our plan is to stay in ontario, wake up the next morning (a Saturday) and drive to Disneyland. We will only have that day and night. I have reservations at the Residence Inn Maingate because it is so much cheaper than anything I could find at Disneyland. The next day we will wake up and fly out of the easiest airport to get to--any ideas? Is one day and night enough--I know it's not ideal; but, it is all we have. We LOVE good food and drink. and, i LOVE Disneyland---so I am so excited for my husband to see it the first time without our little bitty ones who are still a bit too young. Any ideas, advice, information would be VERY much appreciated. Oh! this is also my husband's birthday weekend.

Welcome! One day is tough, but I would sure rather go than not! Get there first thing in the morning before it opens. You may want to go to the Haunted Mansion and Small World as they are different during the Christmas season.

If you stop by the City Hall you can pick up a birthday button for your husband. Not sure how long the wait will be in there though so if your time is limited you have to decide if that is something you want.

I think just reading this board you will pick up a lot of good info. I can't help with airport/travel because we drive.

I would fly out of John Wayne Airport (also called Orange County, Santa Ana, SNA.)

Get lots of fast passes.

John Wayne airport is closest and there is usually only a few dollars difference from surrounding airports. You can definitely do DL in one day but I would not try to do both parks. DL is the better of the two any ways.
