Hi and :welcome: to disABILITIES!

If you click on where it says "disABILTIES" at the top of this page it will take you to the Index. One of the top items is the "disABILTIES FAQ" which will gives lots of useful information. Post #2, 4 and 5 deal with ECVs. Post 7 deals with the Resorts. Looking at these may help.

Or, if you want an easier route, click on the link in my signature.

If you look in post #2 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread, you will find a list of companies that rent ECVs (also called mobility scooters). The companies that are listed are ones the DIS posters have used over the years and recommend. You should be pleased with any of them.

We are DVC members and OKW is our home resort, so I am very familiar with it. I would recommend NOT requesting a specific room or building. The buildings at OKW are not large, so they don't have tons of 2 bedroom villas in each building. If you limit yourself by requesting a particular building or room, you may very well find it's not available and they won't know why you requested that building. So, you could end up not getting anything you want.

One thing you should be aware of at OKW is that the first group of buildings that were built have one entrance into the 'Master' bathroom. This is not a problem if only the people sleeping in the Master will be using that bathroom, but it is a bit inconvenient if people will be sleeping in the living room and using that bathroom. The buildings numbered over 30 have a second entrance into that bathroom. They have a door from the laundry room into the bathroom. So, if that is important to you, ask for a building higher than 30.

There are no elevators in most of the OKW buildings, so make sure to request first floor or building with an elevator for medical reasons. It's usually not a problem to get first floor, but just ask for it that way.

If you are interested in swimming, but not at a busy pool, look at Turtle Pond area, which has a nice pool or request to be near a quiet pool. There are paths from all areas to walk to the Hospitality House - this is where the check in, restaurant and feature pool are.
