Need help w. a Mardi Gras question

OK, so we are palnning on going to UO on 2/9 for the mardi gras parade. Here's my issue - we want to have dinner at lombard's - what time should we try to get? The park closes according to the website at 6pm, so when would the parade start and when and where should we line up for it at? Is it even worth it to try a decent dinner?

Also, for some reason, I think the closing time will change - does anyone remember the closing and parade times last year?

The parade usually starts at 8:00. You'll want to eat beforehand just because the park gets so crowded and places like Lombard's close early. Or if you don't plan on watching the concert, you could just wait until the parade is over and go to CityWalk.

That's probably the best thing to do...certainly the easiest. You'll beat the crowds out of the park and shouldn't have too much trouble finding a table somewhere.
