I hope I don't confuse anyone as I think I have confused myself....

We have 2 home resorts same April use year.

We have a 100 points at AKV and 150 points at BLT.

Our whole plan was to use each resort (AKV/BLT) every one year. For example, 2010-Blt; 2011-AKV. And we would bank the previous year for that stay so we could use our 11 month priority at our home resort.

So where I'm getting confused is.. Say our reservation at BLT for 2010 is 294 points, we have 6 left over, if they then are banked into 2011 do they become part of our AKV points?

Or should I be looking at my contracts as just one lump sum of 250 points to use per year? :confused3

I'm sure this is so much simplier then how I am explaining it... I just don't seem to "get it" right now... or maybe it's because it's 6:30am and I need some coffee...:surfweb:

Please help me understand! Thanks!!! :flower3:

Your 2009 UY points will be good from April 1 2009 to March 31 2010 so depending on when you want to travel in 2010 you will either use the 2009 points and borrow 2010 points or you should bank the 2009 points and then use them and all but 6 points from 2010. The remaining points will stay BLT points and can be banked into your 2011 UY to be used between April 1 2011 and March 2012. They never become points for another resort but can be used for another resort when making reservations 7 months or less from date of check in. You could transfer them to your AKV account but they still retain the BLT resort and UY.

With the scenario you describe, you would have 200 AKV points to use one year and 300 BLT points to use the next.

The "extra" points that you have left over could still be banked into the next year but would retain their "home resort" advantage and could not be combined with the other points until the 7 month window.

So, given your example, your 2010 trip uses 294 BLT points (2009 and 2010). You "bank" the 6 extra into 2011. In 2011, you would have 200 AKV to use at 11 months, and 6 that could be used at 7 months.

What you may find, because of the difference in the size of your contracts, that some years, you will have to book a few nights at both resorts at the 11 months and then switch at 7.

I do think that thinking of it as 250 per year, is the best option since it gives flexibility to bank enough points to complete the following years reservation. (ie: you book a trip to BLT for 240 points, bank 60--the next year you can book 200 points at AKV at 11 months, but also a night or two with the BLT 60 points--then at 7 months, swap out the BLT points to AKV).

Thanks for the replies! I did call memer services this morning too but this explained it alot more and answers some other question I asked in a new thread! Thanks!
