Please give me ideas! DH and I are planning a surprise birthday pizza party for a 16 year old girl (she is not our daughter) and we need help! I'd like to send a treat bag home with each girl. What sorts of ideas can you give me? I've already thought of Bath & Body Works stuff. What other kinds of things do 16 year old girls like? And if it's budget friendly, that helps even more!

Lip glosses, maybe some of the ones that are food flavored would be fun. I saw some candy bar and Twinkie flavored ones once. Flip flops could be cute too. I bet you could find alot of summer items on clearance, jewelery, t-shirts.....

thanks for the ideas! I need help! :scared1:

I just want this to be a great party -- she *so* deserves it and of course I was 16 once......a LONG time ago........and times have changed. I just want to make sure the items in the bags are appropriate!

Keep the ideas coming!!

hi,

we just came from a party... sweet 16 :flower: in dd's gift bag were support bracelets.( paws (humane society) small containers of lipgloss, nailpolish, and stickers, fuzzy pens, in fact dd had 2 of the disney pens that light up, nemo and dori. and a pic frame with a photo of all the girls ( I suppose she took this at another time) If the child loves sports you could do a sports theme. etc.. seems like they are never too old to have party's these days.. Dd is 14 and is already planning her 15th.. :rolleyes1
hope this helps.. have fun..

Thanks Trish! I plan to take a group picture and then get those printed the next day so the birthday girl can include the group shot in her thank you cards. Yes, she loves sports! I don't know about the guests....I can find out. Pens are a great idea........

Keep the ideas coming please!

How about keychains? They're itching to drive if not already! Mini flashlights to attach to thier keys for night time safety. Cute notepads, you can make your own bracelets with stretchy elastic cord sold in the jewelry section and all you do is add some funky and trendy beads and tie in a knot that slips inside one of the beads, very easy and super cheap!! My friend and I used to sell these at craft shows, they were a big hit with the teens. CHOCOLATE!!! Blowpops, gum, breath mints,ect... Have a great party!!

I was at Claire's today and they had many items 10 for $5.00. Necklaces. toe rings, hair accessories. I picked up a bunch to tie on top of b-day presents instead of bows. Claire's also had many buy 1 get 1 offers on ankle bracelets etc. My 10 year old loves Claire's.
Good luck!!!
:flower: :flower:

how about those coupon books you can purchase from fast food places or an ice cream place then at a later date they could all go out together. You could buy a few of the books and split them up.

Coupons for the local video rental place, microwave popcorn.

I like all the previous suggestions!!

my DD loves flip flops & they are on clearence now! Which is good as our puppy likes them too!! I was going to suggest ice cream gift certificates also.

They have little gift cards at WalMart/Target for music downloads--they always seem to go over well and they're very inexpensive!

I love all of the ideas- One of our favorite party favors is a CD of the music played at the party. DH burns a CD for the party. It includes current popular songs as well as old favorite party/dance songs. He burns copies for each girls gift bag.

I hate to be a party-pooper, but this is illegal. :rolleyes1
One great idea I saw is disposable cameras, You might also try the site www.birthdaypartyideas.com

My DD is only 6 but in these past few years I have found that it is easier to buy one nice gift instead of party bags. I spend the same amount of $ and it is much less hassle. It usually comes to spend approx. $10 - $15 per child. The best so far was the movie tickets. For a 16 yr old I would consider buying a nice polo or t-shirt and having their school mascot embrodered at the local trophy shop. You could do the same for a gym bag or back pack. I might stay away from vehicular gifts since all girls may not have their own cars yet. Try to think of things that could immediately enjoy.

I second the Claires and CD ideas. Most girls love everything at Claires and the sales they have are great. If you have a Target near you check out the flip flops. I guess they had them in the Dollar section and now they at a quarter if they have any left. They were in the back now with the other flips.

I can't buy the guests flip flops or shirts as I have no idea what sizes they wear. Point taken about the cd. ;-( It sunded fun though!

Candles. I have gotten so really neat ones at The Dollar Store.

You all have given so many great ideas that I can't think of any! :confused3

One really neat thing that a friend's Dad did for her 18th BDay, when I was a kid (25 yrs ago) was that he took a group shot and made a poster for her...it was way too expensive for him to give one to each of our group back then, but today it's much easier! She is planning on bringing it to our 25th Reunion this year and have an exact shot done with us now! ....I am secretly hoping that she has had copies of the old made for each of us!!!! :) :rolleyes1

Claires is the best idea....if you can find the sale items. You can get a lot of stuff for little $. The CD is a neat idea, is it illegal to copy different songs on one or just the original as is? I just burned all of our routines on CDs for our color guard.....whoops didn't know! I also love the poster idea.....maybe you could get a larger one blown up for each girl and put it in a frame (dollar tree) the one hour place or digital camera could have them ready by the end of the party.

thanks guys! All very nice ideas. I will have to decide on a budget and see what I can do....keep the ideas coming! I am sure many people reading this board can use your excellent ideas.
