Need help to switch from marathon to half-marathon. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello! My DD wanted to register herself and my DH for the half-marathon on Jan. 9, 2016. She was able to register herself, but when she tried to register her dad immediately after her, the half marathon was sold out. (She was one of the last - if not the very last - to register.) So, she registered him for the full marathon the next day, Jan. 10, 2016. He would much rather run the half instead of the full, but since both are sold out, we've been told this won't be possible unless the following happens: someone cancels for the half marathon and we just happen to see it online and register him for it before someone else beats him to it. Does anyone have any other suggestions or helpful hints about this? Thank you so much for reading this and possibly helping!!

I think you're out of luck. runDisney only allows transfers when the races are open - since the half closed, no one can transfer to that race.

Your best bet may be to look for a half bib through the charity or travel groups...and then the money toward the marathon registration will just be lost.

The WDW Marathon Weekend page will have them listed. Check here: http://www.rundisney.com/disneyworld-marathon/registration/

Click on Charity Groups. It'll scroll down to the charities that may or may not have bibs available, and if you scroll further, the Travel Agents will be listed. Good luck!!

In order to get a bib through a travel provider, if any are available, you will need to book your room through them as part of the deal to get the bib. So, if you haven't booked already you should be good. If you have you might need to cancel your current plans and risk losing that room.

Thank you for your recommendations. I have contacted eight Disney travel agencies in hopes to buy a bib for the half-marathon. Fingers are crossed!!
