The CR was our resort of choice for many years beginning in 1981. I have many fond memories of staying there. At that time, the décor of the rooms was a mauve shade very light and airy. We are now DVC members and rarely stay at the hotels, but we did stay there in March 2000 for a quick spring break trip. We were really disappointed with the new décor it is REALLY bright and for me, somewhat overwhelming. The room looked a lot smaller, although I know that is impossible.
However, it is really nice to be able to walk to the MK and board the monorail to visit the other hotels. Shopping there, as mentioned, is great. The restaurants are terrific for the most part. It is easy to get to Fort Wilderness to see the Hoop-de-Doo Revue. The pool area is really nice totally new from my earlier stays. The bathrooms are gigantic. The CR holds a special place in my heart it was my introduction to Disney magic and many memorable moments.
