Need Help- Teacher Bday gift

Ok, DH just informed me that TODAY is DD's teachers birthday. Of course, DD forgot to tell us so I need something by 2:45 today! I was thinking a gift certificate to Barnes and Noble or Starbucks, anyone have any great last minute ideas???? Thanks!

Barnes and noble or Walmart have always been our teachers favorites. Target would be another but we don't have one here. Any place they can get stuff for them selves our use it for class supplies is a great idea. We do that then something small for them only.

A flower pot, with paper flowers on dowels with the gift card sticking in it? A little easter grass in the flower pot for grass, stick a piece of styrofoam or plant foam in the pot to stick the dowels in.

If you have a box just glue some random collage paper on it. Mod podge would work well, hot glue styrofoam in the bottom, cut the flowers and glue glue glue. I think you'll have time. What time is it there?
You should be able to get everything you need at Mike's.

idea!!!

Use pencils instead of dowels and don't glue the foam in. She could use the box later. Wrap the pencils in floral tape, it self sticks so no worrying about glue for that.

It's 9:30ish here. I am about to leave to go to B&N for the gc and I will stop at Mike's. I like the idea of the pencils- very good! Thanks for the ideas! I knew you guys would know what to do!!!

Ok, so what's the best way to attach the flower to the dowel? I have E6000 glue, think that will work?

Ok, I did it! The E6000 glue seems to be holding it nicely. Can't find my glue gun anywhere. As soon as the camera is charged I am taking pictures! I have no idea how to post them though.

Awesome, thanks for the help! I am pretty pleased. For being last minute and not really having a chance to plan the paper! The only thing I didn't do is wrap the dowels- they are still plain. My desk is a disaster though!!

No worries about the wrapping, what teacher can't use pencils!

I think it's really sweet of you to acknowledge the teacher's birthday. When I was teaching, little things like that really do go a long way in making you feel special.

I know it's scary, I zoom in on every pic before I post to make sure you can't see kids, mail, addresses, etc. LOL

I'm glad she liked it so much! YAY!!!

I hope it didn't end up costing an arm and a leg. Without a plan things can get costly.
