Hi All! I need help from all you clever Disers with surprising my niece. DH and I are taking her on her very first WDW trip in two weeks as a birthday present. It's not technically a surprise as we have been telling her for over a year that we are bringing her to Disney for her 5th birthday. Her actual birthday is tomorrow and she knows she is going to Disney in a few weeks, but doesn't quite 'get it', meaning that she doesn't really understand that it's her present.

So... I made up a little gift bag for her to open at her party tomorrow with mouse ears, a pin, her ME luggage tags, an autograph book and Mickey pen, a WDW brochure, and some activity pages to do on the plane. Inside her card I'm taping her park ticket, but I need a cute saying to write in it letting her know that her 'big' present is the acutal trip coming up.

Any ideas? TIA!!!

I would keep that ticket safely in your wallet and swap it with a planning DVD so she can see exactly all the fun she is in for! Maybe you can give her the gifts from you and make an invite from Mickey that includes the planning DVD (or even guide book, like Birnbaums w/lots of pictures) and use the Disney font or write something, like "Gawrsh, have a Happy Birthday! We can't wait to meet you!"

She also may find that a disposable camera and pins for trading or pennies for smooshing may come in handy!!!!

Have a great trip...I'm sure she will remember it forever!

Looks like we're going to be there at the same time celebrating our niece's fifth birthdays. Mine doesn't even know she's going yet. I still haven't figured out how I'm telling her. So going to be sooooo excited.

I'm definitely going to be taking the ticket back after she opens the card! No way I'm trusting a 5 year old with that! :rotfl2: But she already has the planning DVD, and also loves the 'Disneyland Fun' Sing Along Songs video. She doesn't really 'get' how lucky she is to be going, because to her, rides are what she finds at the local fair. Trust me, I want to cry every time I hear her talk about it! LOL She talks about going, but still thinks she should get another present - so hopefully she'll be excited tonight when she opens her little goodie bag.

LOL If you figure out how you're going to tell her, let me know!
