This will be our 3rd trip but we have a new addition to our 3 DD's ( ages 10,8,5) we now will be bringing our 4 month old son with us! On previous trips our youngest was almost a year so we plopped her in a high chair during meals etc... but now that I am planning our meals I am realizing that our baby who is now 5 weeks old but will be 4 month old when we go...will be too little and not sitting on his own yet to be in a high chair. I am sure someone out there has suggestions or has "been there done that" and will be able to offer ideas. I was not planning on bringing our carseat on the plane but obviously "can"....I will be bringing a compact lightweight stroller but if my memory serves me correctly you are not allowed to wheel them up to the tables. We can always hold him on our laps but was just wondering if anyone else has some ideas...
Thanks so much,
Suzanne

Many places let me wheel my stroller to the table! (also a lightweight stroller). When DS#2 was 4/5 months we took his carrier because it was easier. All of the restaurants had those slings to stick it in (we also had our double stroller at the time, though).

I guess I am no help!:confused3 Maybe call the dining res. line and ask what your alternatives are?:goodvibes

That is a good idea to check with Disney....Actually I can't say that I ever tried to wheel my stroller in the last time we were there....I just remember seeing all of them parked outside of the restaurants. If I can wheel it in....problem solved!!
Thamks for replying!

Suzquig- Just got done posting on another thread about this. Long story short, I dont believe they let you bring a stoller into any restaurant that isn't counter service. If there are exceptions, I'm not aware of them. Car seat will be the way to go. Now, the question begs, do you make an ADR for an extra adult to use that seat as the place to sit the car seat? If not, where to you put the car seat?

Nine Dragons and one other restaurant (can't remember which) let us roll our stroller right in. They are out there if you ask!

Many places allowed us to bring in the stroller, most of the time GS was asleep in it, but they were very accomodating, putting us somewhere that stroller was not in the way. Have to say, I know for a fact no strollers at Chef Mickey's- they are all parked outside. but Epcot/DTD never had a problem.

They will let you bring the stoller in if baby is sleeping. We used our infant carrier if we were at a resort restraunt in the parks we used a soft side clip on chair with a beach towel around him. He never looked uncomfortable in it. And he couldn't sit up at all on his own. That is what we did.

We went with DS 5 months at the time. We had no problems at all. Some restaurants (WCC, and CM) had infant highchairs which were great!
Other places we ate were Ohana, Kona, CM, WCC, Spoodles, MM, and Rainforest.

Thank you "Mrs. Disney Ron"....Good to know about the "infant high chairs" since we will be eating at many of the same places you had mentioned...CM's, Kona, O'hana to name a few. We are also eating at Crystal Palace ( I am pretty sure no strollers there because of limited space) Mama Melrose's and Princess Bfast in Epcot. I may call and see if they have this type of high chair. I have never seen one.....does it recline a bit for the "non- sitters"?
Thanks again!!
Suzanne
P.S. Saw you were staying at the Poly next month....that is where we are headed in October for our 3rd time- we love it!! Looking forward to trying Kona for the first time!

You might also want to consider a sling (attach baby to you). We went back in November when my son was 5 months old (still a bit 'floppy') and a lot of times he would sleep during meals anyway. Tony's has the infant high chairs. Hollywood and Vine does not (at least not back then). Good luck and take advantage of the baby centers.

when you make the adr they ask how many people will be in your party...whether they are on DDP or eating...so baby will count as 1 person and they seat you accordingly.

On occassion we were allowed to bring the stroller in (but don't count on it). That was sort of a pain in itself unless we were seated next to a wall and could take a chair away. Most restaurants were pretty tightly packed with tables.

We usually used a sling..so that I could "hold" baby and still have my hands somewhat free to eat.

Also, be sure dining knows about the baby--our ADR at 50s Prime Time was messed up because we were marked as a party of 4, but we were really a party of 5--due to the baby. The staff was sort of grumpy about that and we waited an awfully long time for a table. (by the way I had told the lady we were 3 adults, 1 child & 1 infant when I made the ADR).

Infant highchair has same recline as an infant carseat. Have fun, we have no regrets taking DS that young. My DS is 21 months and will be going on his 5th trip this Sept. Let me just say Kona has amazing food. It can be a little loud but that way you dont have to be as worried about children.

I agree with the PP. Use the baby care centers. They are so clean, and a nice break from the heat.

This is our first stay at the Poly...we can not wait! Thanks for the positive review.

We had one of those car seats that detached from the base and could be carried around by the handle.

We plopped that thing on chairs all the time. The places with the wooden highchairs that pulled up to the table were the best. If you turn one of those wooden highchairs upside down, the carrier easy fit into the legs..very secure. The carrier also fit nicely into strollers.

As another person mentioned, you can push the stoller right into the restaurant..ask for a table a little out of the way.

Good luck!

We brought our youngest DD to WDW for her first trip when she was 3 months old. We had no problems at any of the restaurants with her. We either brought her stroller in or used the infant highchair for her. At San Angel, I did have her in a Pouch Sling for the meal. Here is what we did and where:

Used Her Stroller At:

--Hoop Dee Doo

--Ohana

--Cape May

--Marrakesh

--Le Cellier

Used The Infant Highchair:

--Chef Mickey's

--Garden Grill
