Did any of you visit the little food shop down the street from the hotel in Rome? If you are standing in front of the Bernini Bristol, facing toward the fountain, and turn to your right, cross the side street, and go about half a block, it's on the right. Marco was our guide, and he loved the place and sent us there. I didn't write down the name, and now my sister and her daughter will be on the adventure leaving the 19th and I'd like to send them there. Anyone know the place I'm talking about? We have a lot of folks on the board who have taken this trip, so hopefully someone will have your answer. If not, you might try emailing the Bernini Bristol. You could also try calling ABD and see if someone there could ask Marco. ABD also has a facebook page, and you could try asking there.

Which Marco did you have as a guide? We had Marco Vendramin who I still am in contact with. I remember the store but not the name. If you had Marco Vendramin as your guide let me know and I'll ask him.

yes we did! Hope he is well and happy. He was an amazing guide! DH looked on googlemaps just now, and we think we may have found it. There is a sign that simply says "Snack Bar", black with white text, and darned if I don't think that's it. But confirmation would be fantastic. Thanks so much!

When did you go on your trip? Licia Elementi is a guide on Viva Italia as well who I know. I will ask her and Marco but it may take a day or two to get an answer. I just went on Google Earth Street View and there is a "Snack Bar" as you described. I remember walking around this area. We did this trip in October 2011. Looking to do Europe in 2014 when the new intineraries are released. The 2014 master plan.

We went in 2008. The place on the corner - "Bernini Gusto" I think - wasn't there when we were. I am fairly certain the Snack Bar is the place I remember - Grandma was in the kitchen, and her two fifty-something sons were running the front of the house. Everything was scrumptious, and very reasonable. Thanks again for the interest and help
