Leaving for Xmas trip this Sunday and DW broke her ankle 2 days ago (bummer). I have read on posts of a place that rents scooters and will deliver to OKW, does anyone have a name or phone # for the company? Thanks for any help.

We are in a similar predicament with my MIL. My wife found a place by doing a google search on the words CAREmedic. The Web address is:

http://www.caremedicalequipment.com/

We are arriving on Sunday, and are renting a scooter for $30 per day for four days. They will drop off at BCV that morning, and pick up on Thursday. She found out about the company from a friend who was very pleased with their service.

Hope this helps.

John

Here are the ones that DIS posters have rem\ported renting from:
Care Medical:
http://www.caremedicalequipment.com/

Walker Mobility:
1-888-726-6837
www.walkermobility.com

RANDY'S Mobility is in Kissimmee 407-892-4777
http://randysmobility.com/

Colonial Medical
http://www.colonialmed.com/about_cms.html

They will all deliver to and pick up from OKW.
I have heard of the 1-888-Scooters, but no one has ever posted that the rented from there as far as I have seen.

Here's a link to the DIS page about touring WDW with a mobility disability. You can follow the link in my signature to the disABILITIES Board if you have more questions.

1 888 SCOOTER is Walker Mobiltiy - I have rented from them on several occasions - easy to use, they deliver and pick up for free, best $30.00 /day I spent on the vacation!

I didn't realize that 1-888-SCOOTER was Walker. Someone posted a website for a company called Scootaround.com. I saw their 1-888 number (in numbers, not letters) and thought it spelled out SCOOTER (I should have had a phone by me).
Walker is a company that many people have reported being pleased with besides Puffy. I have not heard of scootaround before though.

Thanks to all, talked to Walker and all set up. They will actually deliver the day before so its there when we arrive.

:bounce:

I just used Walker for the second time this week - first was two months ago. I can vouch for the fact that there is plenty of room in an OKW one-bedrrom unit for the scooter to be recharged each night. We drove it straight in & plugged it in near the chair & ottoman in the living room.
