Need help saving a picture

I received an email with a jpg picture attached and I am trying to save it on my computer. Every time I try to save it, it will only save as a bmp file, there are no other choices on the drop down list. Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

I'm not sure if this will work, but here's an idea.

Do you have scanner or digital camera software? Save the pic to your scanner software. Click save as, then see if it'll let you save as a jpg from there?

It's an IE glitch.

• On the bar above, go to Tools, click 'Internet Options'.
• Under Temporary Internet Files, click the button labeled 'Delete files'.
• Under History click 'clear history'.
• Restart the browser.

This should fix it. Had the same thing happen not too long ago and found it was this easy to fix.

Do you have Microsoft Photo Editor?

If not, then send it to me and I can change it. Sometimes when you change it the quality suffers, but we can try.

If yes, go ahead and save it like it is. Open up the editor and bring up the picture.

You re-save it. Go to save as, and then you find the "JPEG File Interchange Format .jpg" in your menu. It will save it as a .jpg.

Or that's what I do.

Shannon, I don't have a scanner, but I do have a digital camera. I tried and it didn't work.

Did you miss my reply? That is what's wrong, I couldn't save any image as other than a bitmap until I did that. Don't worry it won't delete the email or anythng important.

Edit- ok, ok, I left out a label that probably confused you. Please go reread the instructions now, they'll make sense. Sorry.

I tried what you said, but with the missing step I couldn't figure it out. Now that you reposted I did it. Thanks!

While looking for pics to post for my ladies post, some pics just couldn't be saved as anything but bmp. Somebody told me how to change it.
