Need help quickly .Very last minute cancellation. ? about DDP

I posted this on the restaurants board but haven't gotten an answer.We are supposed to check into AKV Saturday ( as in 36 hours from now) but DH's brother has been taken to the hospital and it does not look good. We will know more tomorrow but what is the cancellation policy for ddp ( we have the Deluxe plan) if we cancel 24 hours before? TIA

Changes to the dining plans for DVC must be made 48 hours in advance.

If you cancel tomorrow, your points would go into holding. If you cancel Saturday, they are forfeited. Not sure about the dining plan. But DVC has been known to make exceptions in serious cases.

It never hurts to ask. We were snowed out last year and couldn't get a flight out for 2 days. They let us cancel reservations at no cost, let us bank our points, not even holding, but banked.
Explain the situation and good luck with all.
