I reserved a full size, with the hopes of getting a minvan but not counting on it. I have 2 kids in booster seats and 1 in a car seat. I didn't think there would be any problem fitting all the seats into a full size car.
My dh has a Chevy Lumina and I don't know if this is considered full size or mid but I just tried to get them all in there and THEY DON'T FIT!!!!!!! Help! Will they fit in the rental car??? If they don't and I can't get them in the trunk with the luggage, I'll be up a creek not to mention not having my kids properly restrained.

What should I do????

It's a gamble. If it were me, i would change to a larger car now, before you get there. I'm sure you can upgrade at the terminal if necessary, but more than likely the rate will be better if you do it on-line.

2 boosters and a car seat is a lot. We Just had a Camry last month, full size, and I don't think that would have worked out for you.

The only trouble is that it is so late that the prices are $400-500 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My reservation was for $155---------- that is a huge difference and will cause quite a setback.

I am flying into Tampa. Do you think that will make a difference in what is available on EA? How can I call them directly??

Well, since I could get stuck with a Toyota Camry which would NOT fit all of us and the car seats, I found that Avis had a rate for about $50 more for a minivan. At least now I KNOW we will fit. I would have liked to stick with National EA b/c of the convenience of it. We used it in December and it was great, but with all the talk of minivans becoming scarce and it being "Jersey" week, I am afraid we would be strapping a couple of kids to the roof!;)

Pluto, thanks for your input!

I think you made the right choice. WE had a full-size car in Aug, and there would have been NO WAY a 3rd car seat would have fit in between our two car seats. Actually the only thing that did fit was our umbrella stroller, and that was a tight fit!!! WE had a Buick Regal, so it was a nice size, but definately a tight fit for us!

I think you made the right choice too. You certainly got a good rate on your minivan. If it were me, I'd be happy to pay the extra $50 to skip the stress of worrying about it. If you hadn't gotten a minivan on EA (which was certainly going to be a big gamble! LOL), you probably really would have had a problem (not a good way to start a vacation!). Now, you won't have to worry about it, and you also won't be all crammed in together!

I hope the rest of your trip is great!
