I've used SkyAuction for Ready, Set, Go auctions but I'm looking to bid on a Home and Away special. How much do these usually go for? Is there someway to search completed auctions to see the final bids?

Hi Steve,

To see the winning bids, go to the bottom of the first page and you'll see the word, "winners". Click that (you'll have to sign in) and then I click USA and Canada. Then click "Offer Title" and it will put all the Home and Away auctions together.

I have won two. One I paid $95, the other I was bidding last minute so I HAD to have it (I hate bidding like this) so I paid $103. There have been auctions won for $30. I have noticed Friday nights and weekend afternoons tend to go for less but it all depends I guess.

Good luck. I LOVE Skyauction. :)

My last two wins were at $45 and $61. The lowest I've seen is $35. Typically $53-63 will win.

I bid $65. Hopefully, that will do it. If not, there are plenty of other auctions. Honestly, though, it would be a bargain at twice that amount - still only $50/night when you add the fees.

I'm sorry, I've got to ask - are you all using the ready set go & home and away auctions for Orlando? every time I search the inventory (by clicking on the getawayweeks.com link on the auction page), I NEVER find anything for the Orlando/Kissimmee area. Am I missing something or do you all use the weeks during off peak times? I usually search for 1 or 2 bedrooms & find only places like Titusville or Poincienna or weird places like that. Please help! :confused3

p.s. I've used skyauction in the past for winning week stays on auctions with specific resorts with specific dates only (usually the last minute auctions where check in is like a week or less from the auction end) like Celebration World Resort.

I want to use my two weeks for the last two weeks in August this year. This is our third time going at this time of year. So far, there is a ton of availability for Sept. but not much for August. It's a little scary but I keep telling myself to remember prior years.........about a month out, more becomes available..........this is a low time of year. With that said, I guess it's not guaranteed, but I've never had a problem before. Don't know what I'll do if it doesn't work out since I don't have a back up. I've won 8 auctions with Skyauction.......so far they haven't let me down.....so far.

But I know what you mean.......if it's June and July you are looking at, nothing comes up. Are all those condos in Orlando really filled up?

I've won some auctions like yours also. They are usually really last minute. I am a big time planner, so waiting like this is about to kill me. :rotfl: But $508
for 14 nights can't be beat!

*disgal* - thank you for your reply. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that something comes up for the end of august! I searched this morning & I think there might be stuff for the last week of August open but I played around with so many weeks I cant be certain.

I played around with the getawayweeks.com link again & noticed if I scrolled way further down there is a search for FL-Orlando. I was just using the first FL search at the top of the scroll so maybe that made a difference.

Thanks again!

thanks Cinamin..........there isn't anything but Club Sevilla so far. Don't really want that one. I'm hoping for Silver lake. We haven't stayed there yet but have heard a lot of good stuff on these boards.

And yes, if you scroll down, there is an Orlando search. I check it about 2 or 3 times a day. Just a little anal don't ya think? :rotfl: Here's hoping!!:wizard:

noting this in the auction terms

Note: Reservations for both certificates must be made by August 31, 2007. Last date to begin travel is March 31, 2008.

looks like this is all time sensitive and you would have to know your travel plans for both by the end of august ????

Correct. I have already used both $100 certificates and my travel dates are in August.

Honestly, I don't care about the $100 off certificate. All I want is the 7 day stay. I'm using that for our November trip. I probably won't use the $100 certificate. Even so, if I can pay $75 or less for the auction, our week in Florida will cost under $42/night. Can't beat that.

Yes, but we're going the first week of November. That makes a difference.

Thanks for the reply disneysteve, that explains it, I found lots of places for Nov/early Dec, of course, when I used the right search term! I just cant get my 14 yr old DD to take a week off from school, she is afraid she will miss too much, although I think I can get her to get early assignments to take while we are down there. Here's hoping....

Here in NJ, the first week of Nov. is the teacher convention. Schools are closed at least 2 days. And Tuesday of that week is election day and some schools close for that. So she will miss 3 days at most, though we do fear that this may be the last year she can swing it.

How much are the fees for the Home and Away auctions? I saw that the Ready Set Go auctions are now $295.

I don't have a trip planned, but I do have a $200 credit for Jetblue burning a hole in my pocket, and Silver Lake Resort is available for the dates we would most likely travel (if I can justify a trip 6 weeks after we move into our new home!)

Iam not new to skyauction, but I am still learning. Can you please tell me what search term you are referring to, to get more vacation inventory to show up?

Thank you

Ooooo, sounds like fun!

The Home and Away fees are $195, then you have to add the $20 fee that everyone pays for any auction, so that's $215.

That is one reason why I picked Home and Away instead of Ready,Set,Go..........ofcourse I'm waiting for SA to raise the price of the HAA too. :rolleyes1

With the $100 gift cert. my DD14 and DNiece15 saw Phantom on Broadway last week for free!! :woohoo:

I'm not sure, but I think what she means is..........when she was searching before, she would pick "Florida" or something instead of "Orlando". That narrows it down a bit more.

And there are more 1 bedrooms showing than 2 bedrooms, which is what I need for 5 people.
