I have a reservation on 4/3 deal with 10 day base tickets and need to make final payment today. Can I change to 1 day tickets before I make my final payment? I'm starting to rethink how we'll do our tickets/spend our park days, and am unsure 10 day is the best deal. If I can change to 1 day, I can always add on later, right? (or not?)

If I can't change # of ticket days:
Our dates our still open on Disney.com. Can I do a new reservation and cancel the first? I bought insurance, though, which says it's non-refundable. Would I be able to transfer it to a new reservation?

(starting to panic - but just a little!)

One more question... if I have a room/1 day ticket, I can still get the dining plan, right (and it would have to be for 10 days, based on room)?

I don't know all of the answers to all of your questions. I believe you can always upgrade your tickets at a later date. You can get the dining plan as long as you have a Magic Your Way package (room and tickets).

Just a thought....Since you have to call reservations today either way, why don't you call them and explain to them what you wrote here -- i.e. what you are debating, etc. They can advise you what the best thing to do is and what can and can't be done.

you booked 4/3 but got 10 day tickets instead? Did you buy the no experation option so you could use them another time? If thats the case you are, in my opinon doing the right thing if you think you could use the passes again. My concern would be that since it is a package you may not be able to "drop" down to one day then change your mind later and add them back on.
Before anything, I would call the reservation hotline and ask about ticket choices just to be safe.

I don't know if there will be a change fee or not, since you want to downgrade.
But I would not go to a 1 day since you have a 7/4 package. Maybe 7 day tickets. But really I suspect there is not much difference $-wise between the 7 day and 10 day tickets.

Any DDP is based on the number of nights booked on your res. It has nothing to do with the number of days you have for tickets.
The travel insurance may not be able to be transferred. You would have to ask.
If it were me I would leave what you have alone and not start any potential issues.

I asked that same question.....the answer i got was we would be better to downgrade to the 1 day base and then upgrade or you will be charged a fee for changing cuz it's considered a downgrade.
Although you can upgraged you tix at any time, with the 4/3 offer, you have to do it BEFORE you arrive at disney to get the 3 days free.
Our final payment is due on the 17th and I'm leaving ours on there. I priced them at undercovertourist and other places and it is actually slightly cheaper doing it through disney because in order to get the dining, you have to have a one day base on there so your buying that and then more tickets through another place, make sense???

Thanks, everyone.

I decided to just stop stressing and leave it as it was with the 10-day tickets (we're staying 10 nights - I don't think I was clear on that).

The reason I thought of changing it to less, was because I have other tickets we could have used, because we're probably not going to use 10 days. I figured we'll probably use 5.

So now I need to figure out how to get the most out of a 10 day ticket, or figure out if or at what point it pays to upgrade to non-expiring.
