I need to print out some shipping labels and file folder tab labels. I thought I'd just do it in Word, but it seems to be pretty complicated to use. Is there a good, inexpensive label program or some easy way to make these kind of labels?

I don't know about Word, but in WordPerfect I go to Format and then to Labels and choose the type of label; it uses the Avery numbers and descriptions.

You might just go into Help and ask about labels.

Word is the same. I don't think that the Word label program is hard, you click on label, enter your information, click on the label size and print.

On a PC, I think you have to click on OPTIONS to change the label size.

Word and WordPerfect both assume that everybody buys Avery brand labels. If you have Avery labels, the label model number is right on the sheet of labels. If you know the Avery model number, it's really easy. You don't select a label size - you select an Avery model number.

If you don't have Avery labels, it's probably more difficult.

Yes, I think that was a big part of my problem. My labels didn't match any of the brands they listed.

Usually store brand labels even list the equivalent of what the Avery label style would be. Did you check that? It really is completely simple in Word, once you know the label style. They have all the default templates there.

What labels do you have? I can probably find the equivalent Avery label for you if it's not easy to find.
