Need Help Please!

We are leaving in 9 Days and I have a question about the room charging. I like having to just carry a little cash and the room key so we have two options - linking the account to our debit card or just giving them cash to use as a credit. Has anyone had any experience doing either of these? Does one work better than the other? Any help is appreciated!

Hi usually at check in - they ask you how much of a limit would you like on your room card... then they use your credit card to secure that amount.

I don't know about debit cards.

I have heard some people hand over cash as a security deposit against the room card.

Are you charged a fee to be able to charge to your room?

There is no fee to charge to the room. They made an imprint of our Visa check card at check in and we had a $1500 limit (deluxe resort). We would go down to the desk every few days to "settle the bill"... it was easier to keep track of our spending. You can give them cash to put on the card as well. You can also give them your credit card but opt to pay cash or check at check out. Hope this helps!!!

We have only given them a credit card. I would call the resort and ask them. Then you don't have to worry. My debit card is also a mastercard( although they draw directly from your checking account) I don't know if yours is also set up that way. Good Luck

Thanks for all of the help I really appreciate it! My debit card is also a Visa but draws directly from my checking account as well I was just concerned about "errors" being that it is directly from my checking account. I wasn't sure if that was something anyone had problems with. I just can't decide which would be better.. maybe cash just so I don't have to worry about any mistakes. Thanks again for the help!
