Hello,

We are going to Disney in January. This is our first time going during this time. Anyway...we are thinking of staying at a DVC resort. I would exchange through II. Are there any fees we will have to pay once we get there? What perks will we get for staying onsite? I'm trying to decide whether to stay onsite or offsite. We've always stayed offsite, so this would be a first for us.

Thanks for any help.

Hello Michelle, Welcome to the DISboards.

I can't speak about any perks or discounts, but staying "on property" is soooo much better. Truly it will make ALL the difference. I can't emphasize this enough. You are IN the "world" when staying at DVC. You have free transportation to and from WDW and you can use your room key to charge anything inside the world. If you stay in BVC or BWV you can walk a 5 minute walk to the backdoor gates of Epcot. It is sooo cool.

I'll step down now and let others step up. :)

There is a $95 resort services fee. At least I think that's what it's called.

You would not be eligible for any DVC member discounts. You will have access to all services like any other on-site guest.

We will also be going in January. One important perk of staying on onsite is early and late entry. During January, the parks have shorten hours. So the early and late entry has a big impact. Also, free parking is one of our favorite perks.:goodvibes
