I have tickets to the 6:00 cirque show on a Friday night. I will be dropping off 3 kids at Animal Kingdom Lodge kids club. That will cost me $30 an hour.
Heres the question, should me and DH go to dinner before or after the show? Should we eat in DTD or AKL??

I want to go to Fultons but DH is sticker shocked. This night will end up costing us close to $500 if you factor the tickets cost $170, dinner at Fultons $150 and 5 hours of kids club at $150.

Is it worth it?????????????????????????????????????

Wow! $500 for an evening out sounds a bit steep, doesn't it? As to whether it's worth it, that's a very individual question. My personal opinion is, yes the cost of Cirque and quality childcare while enjoying your evening out is well worth it. But if DH and I were planning a nice evening out without the kids and were spending that kind of money to do it, we'd choose a less expensive place for dinner.

Since the show is at 6, I personally wouldn't be able to eat dinner before, especially because I'd want to eat well before the show to make sure I got there on time. So I'd plan dinner for after the show.

As far as whether you should eat at DTD or after you get back to AKL, that too depends on your tastes. Look at the menus for the DTD restaurants to see if any of them appeal to you without causing DH sticker shock. ;) If not, have dinner at AKL.

Okay - here's what I'd do. Eat a late breakfast that day, then eat an early supper at Mara (the kids will eat at Simba's Cubhouse). Go to the show, then stroll over to Gharadelli's (sp?) for a big, sinful ice cream sundae! Then jump on the bus back to AKL.

This is a nice way to spend time together and not spend all that money! DH and I dropped our kids at Simba's (they loved it BTW), ate at Mara, spent the evening just strolling around the resort, shopping, having a drink at the bar, etc.

mara is the food court there at AKL. that does sound like a great idea. have a great time at cirque!! it is fabulous:tongue:

As disney queen says, Mara is the food court at AKL. I had excellent fish and chips here, DH loved the African stew in a bread bowl. I also loved the Chicken tandoori pizza that they serve here (had it the night we arrived!). Look in the dessert section, as they sometimes have Zebra Domes, which are favorites of those that go to Boma. If they have a hunk of coconut tiramasu, grab it!

I'd eat dinner after the show, and would avoid Fultons even if it were free.
If you decide not to go back to the AKL and eat in DD, Wolfgangs dowstairs is a reasonably priced spot.
