:goodvibes I am trying to help my future son in law plan a surprise Honeymoon for my daughter. They weren't going to be able to do much so my husband and I are sending them on a Disney Honeymoon. Right now I am trying to decide whether or not to do the Deluxe Dinning Plan. They won't be able to sit down for three table service meals a day. I was wondering if on the deluxe dining plan can they do some counter service meals instead of all table service? I was thinking of planning some Signature dinning for them but I need help. TIA

Yes, go for the DxDDP. They can eat table service or quick service or any combination. And, with it being a honeymoon, they may want to choose several signature dining restaurants in the event that they don't eat a full 3 meals a day.

If you're helping him out with this, remind him to get his dining reservations at 180 days out or as soon as possible if they're leaving in less than 180 days.

I hope they have a wonderful time!

What a wonderful surprise!! :goodvibes

I am going to Disney on my Honeymoon in November- and we are doing the Deluxe Dining Plan, we are going to do several signatures, and character meals, so it works out well for us.

We are going to try 1 or 2 counter-services too on the bigger meal days, but you can use your dining credits for CS or TS!

Where are they going to be staying? I am staying at the POFQ- never been there before, but I hear it is very romantic!

Thanks for the input. After posting on the resorts board, we have decided to go with the regular dining plan and put them in a moderate resort. I think it would be more romantic for them. And I want them to have the romance my DH and I didn't get to have. I was sooo sick. I hope to one day send us on a second Honeymoon without our kids and do the Dxp for us.

I saw (and responded) to your post on the resorts board. I just want to reiterate that I think you're doing an awesome thing! And I agree...DxDDP and Value versus DDP and Moderate...I'd go DDP and Moderate for sure!

doing dxdp and planning on signature meals for dinner would be a marvelous plan for the honeymooners

What a great gift! Just my two cents, but if the trip is a complete surprise to them, as in "you're going on a honeymoon and you're leaving tomorrow" kind of thing, then you might want to consider making the dining reservations for them (up to 180 days in advance). It can be difficult to "wing it" with table service restaurants once you're down there - many of them are booked up wayyyy in advance and they would be out of luck if they wanted a meal at a particular sit-down restaurant.
