We are looking to go to WDW in October to celebrate DD 8th birthday. I want to make it special and do special things.

I want to try a new resort.

We have stayed at CR 3 times and need to break out of the comfort zone of its convenience. Prices are high at Deluxe, so trying to decide on Deluxe or Moderate and which one.

Willing to split our stay to enjoy and make transportation easier - maybe a couple of nights closer to HS or AK and a couple of night near MK. I know DD would love something more fun than CR.

Please give me your suggestions and reasons. We need to break out of our mold and we are park people - we do not spend that much time in the room, but want it decent.

How does a moderate compare to say a Hampton Inn or Comfort Inn?

Thanks

I would check out the threads for each of the moderates.

There is no comparison to the resort amentities of the moderates to a chain hotel off-site.

Covered bus stops
Full service food courts and restaurant (all but POFQ, but can share with POR)
Multiple pools
Entertainment at POR and POFQ lounge
Concierge service
Guest services
Access to all transportation
Additional transportation at POR and POFQ to DTD (can use as a hub at night from the resorts as well)

Out of all four moderates, POR is my favorite, but I would not hesitate to recommend any of the others as well. All have a wonderful theme, as well as great service.

What about one of the Royal Rooms at Port Orleans? I thought those looked really awesome.

There are so many options... you definitely need a break from CR! I would highly recommend YC/BC. Close to Epcot for a change, totally different night time atmosphere than the MK resorts. You can walk over to Epcot so easily for dinner, the boat to the Studios is nice too. SAB is a great pool area. :thumbsup2 I'm also a HUGE Kidani fan! Maybe a split stay between those 2 places. Would be totally different and new compared to the CR. Have fun planning! :goodvibes

As far as a moderate I would suggest POR. Deluxe your daughter would LOVE LOVE LOVE Yacht and beach pool!!! You would be walking distance from Epcot and HS (or boat :) ) Also Boardwalk is fun at night also. :)
