Hi Everyone!
I need help picking a WS restaurant! Maybe you guys can dish on some of these places for me!
I'm going solo and I'll be on the DeluxeDDP & haven't tried any of these yet, but want to fit one in (maybe 2!)

1) Le Celliar - I LOVE steak, but go to Shula's in NYC on a regular basis, and have CG booked already for filet, but I hear the filet is great here. How's the wine selection? Can you get Ice Wine? Is there a place in Canada to get a glass of wine without going to the resturant?

2) Either of France's restaurants - How are they? Menu looks interesting.

3) Marrakesh - The menu sounds sooo tempting. Can you order the Royal Feast on the DxDDP?

Thanks everyone!

My thought is that you can get a good steak anywhere. Go to France and Moroccoand experience their eateries instead - you can't get a good place of those cuisines in every city. That's what the WS is all about - trying new things!

I have eaten at both of the French restaurants - the upstairs Bistro is only open seasonally these days. The Bistro is exquisite and Les Chefs is very nice/delicious - you will not be disappointed. FYI - The Bistro is not on the Dining Plan.

Despite Kevin's mediocre review (on the Podcast) a couple months or so ago, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Marakesh. (He said he didn't care for the type of seasonings/flavor combos that cuisine has to offer.) We eat there almost every visit and feel the food is a good value. You don't get as much as you used to in years past, but it was always too much back then. The flavors are spot on for what they are supposed to be. We always choose the smaller kabob entrees and don't usually do the big platters. The mint tea is one of their specialities, too. You can always snack at the Tangerine Cafe out front, if you are not sure if you like the cuisine.

I ate a Le Cellier several years ago and would say it's really not worth the hype it's gotten these days. I felt like it was small and rushed. (I'm also not really much of a 'steakhouse girl', either.) On the podcast, Kevin solidified my thoughts on that when he gave them a poor review last Christmas and said they were leaving their tradition behind and would go to France - Les Chef's - instead for their annual Candlelight meal this year.

Hope that helps.

There are reports of Restaurant Marrakesh charging an additional fee, I think $5.99, for the Royal Feast dinner. It is not consistently applied. I don't know if it depends on the server, the manager, or which dining plan the patron is using.

I love Le Cellier! I'm trying Chefs de France for the first time on our next trip.

go to allears.net and check out the menus and see which one looks better to you. If you want something different besides steaks then go for france or morroco.

Le Chefs France is a great choice, Le Cellier as well

Marrakesh not so much, 9 Dragons not so much

Japan: the Sushi bar is above avg, the teppan is avg. on a good night.

Rose and Crown, be careful where you get seated... if you are near the pub you get a lot of noise and drunks... odds are they will not seat you outside to see illuminations.

The restaurant in Mexico is avg. Norway is the princess thing, the food is below avg. but the princess interaction is pretty good. The German beer haus is ok, but the food is very german and it is fest seating.

All three (well 4) of the restaurants are really good. I don't think Bistro is included on DDP though - that's the best of the bunch.

Does anyone know where to find the fine and/or mixed drink list for these and other resturants in WS. Allears.net doesn't have it with their menus. :(

BF & I are still talking about and craving Marrakesh a week later. I wish I could have dinner there once a week. It's food & wine you can't get just anywhere.
