I know I am overthinking this way too much. My DD who will be 5 next month is having a Princess Themed Birthday Party. We are inviting 12 little girls to the party. I have rented a Princess Moonwalk and not sure what else we are going to do yet. (If anyone has any ideas let me know). Anyway. I am trying to get the goody bags bought and I keep changing my mind. So, here are the 2 different ideas I have so far.

1. Went to the Disney Store today for the 50% off clearance sale (intention was to get them each a princess shirt but none left in the right size). They have these Blue Cinderella Jewelry/Music Boxes with a handle. Inside they come with a necklace, earrings and a bracelet I think. Original price was $18.50 - on sale for $5.00 (with the 50% off) I also have a 15 % coupon.

2. Second choice is stuff that I have found on e-bay. I can get these cute pink tote bags with the princesses on them for $16 for 12 plus shipping. Then I found lighted crowns and wands with fur on them. They would cost $13 and $14 plus shipping for 12.

The pricing isn't a whole lot different. I also found a website (thanks to a Diser) that you can order Personalized Princess CD's for $3 each. They have 12 princess songs on them and I can make the cover say anything I want.

So, I need input as to what you think the girls would like or if anyone has any other ideas I would welcome those also. Thanks Much.

Here is my super cheapo idea for a craft and a favor all in one. My older dd did this at a birthday party at that age and LOVED it.

Collect paper egg cartons. You will need one egg carton per every two children. Cut off the tops of the cartons and discard. Cut the bottom in half between the cups such that you have two strips of six cups each. Now cut each strip in half, right through the center of the cups. For each crown, staple two strips together end-to-end to make a circle.

For the party, have paint, stickers, fake jewels and glue, etc., and let the kids decorate their own crowns. Instant princesses!

This isn't a favor exactly but for one of my daughter's birthdays we did a princess theme. For an activity/favor I took a big wash tub and filled it with foamy soap and cheap plastic rings. The girls got to dive in with their hands and keep the rings that they found. This was clean, messy fun. Just make sure that everyone gets a ring.

For my daughter's princess birthday, there will be both boys and girls attending, so the girls will have princess diaries to decorate while the boys will have crowns.
For party favors, I have a princess book and an activity book for each girl along with a princess flashlight and wands. Then for the boys I have flashlights, activity/coloring books.
I wanted to get the kids something that they could use/do instead of little trinkets that will just get tossed around then thrown away.

Depending on the ages of the girls that are attending the party, I think the jewlrey/music box is a cute idea and a great deal at $5.00 each plus with the discount.

My daughter had a princess party at that age too.

We made wands - dowels from the craft store, and I helped them cover them with glitter and stickers and ribbon. Messy, but fun!

We also did dress-up. I brought all of dd's dress-up costumes and accessories downstairs (she had many!) and set up a rack for dresses, a rack for capes and aprons, an area for crowns, boas, and hats, an area for shoes, etc. I did purchase some extra accessories to make sure there was enough for everyone. But dd was really into dressing up, and I sew, so she had pretty much every princess costume you could think of, including an Ariel tail!

The girls went from station to station dressing up, and then one of my friends did their "makeup" and hair at the "salon". I had to make sure the other moms were okay with the makeup, which luckily they were.

It was really fun.

All Clearence is 50% off at the Disney Store. T shirts are $2.50 I would go or call & have them ship you to shirts. Also Pricess lamps are 12.50 Blow up chairs $5.00 wall decorations 2.50 is. The fairy Snow globe looking things are 1.49. RUN! :wizard:

we did a princess party last year, and here are some of the ideas i collected:

1. Princess Body Glitter - what you'll need: aloe vera gel, fine polyester glitter (any color, available at most craft stores, one small cosmetic travel container for each girl, wooden craft sticks or plastic coffee stir straws. to make: fill containers 1/4 full with aloe gell, pour a small amount of glitter in and mix with wooden craft sticks or coffee straws. let the girls mix and add more gel or glitter until mixing is complete. close lid and decorate with stickers and gel pens.

2. Pass the Poisoned Apple: like hot potato-party guests pass a shiny, red apple until music stops, guest left holding the apple receives a necklace and game continues til everyone is out. This can also be done with a plastic tiara or a stuffed frog.

3. Fairy Princess Dust: items needed: baby food jars, decorations for jars (pink tulle, ribbon, glitter, labels. fill baby food jars with glitter, decorate with rick-rack, and affix labels making sure they say the "fairy dust" must only be used outdoors for the magic to happen.

4. Face Painting: princess slippers, tiaras, flowers, etc.

5. crowns and wands can be bought fairly cheaply at oriental trading.

i've got a few cute ideas for food-let me know if you need them :)
