Hi - I need a little help from the experts. I have one contract and am adding on through resale, same use year at another resort. We are going to have the same names on the new deed. Will I have one account with points - how does this work? Will I be managing two DVC accounts or can it get combined. When I make a reservation, do I have to keep track of which contract, I am taking from. Can I use some points from one and some from another to make a reservation?

I am going to send my signed contract and deposit back and need to understand this. Would I have been better off waiting for a contract that had both my use year and home resort - would that have mattered? What has everyone's experience - is it complicated? Thanks for helping with this.

You will see both contracts under the same membership number.
However, since they are different resorts, they are separate contracts.
At the 11 month window you can only book each contract at the home resort. At the 7 month window the points can be used at any resort.

If you have multiple contracts within the same use year at the same resort, the points are combined.

Your existing master contract is 123456.000. Your add on will be 123456.001. Both will be listed under your membership number on the website.

Each set of home resort points can be used to book their home resort at 11 months. They can be combined at 7 months.

Thanks - so at 7 months is it like having one pool of points? I have never booked at more than 7 months anyway.

Yes, that is correct -- at 7 months with the same use year, they are all one pool of points. If you are booking or changing your reservation at the 7 month mark, you can ask MS to pull points from specific contracts for your reservation, telling them exactly which points from which resort you would like to use for that reservation.

For example, I extended my AKV stay by a couple of days next spring. I asked MS to pull some of the extra points needed from my BCV banked points from 2008 (which will expire after our spring trip and before our next travel), rather than using this year's AKV points (which I will be able to bank and use the following year).

It seems very complicated at first, but it gets easier over time. Having the same use year makes everything much easier. IMO, the use years are more important than the home resort when you want to combine points to make one reservation at 7 months.

We have three contracts with the same use year, at different resorts. Disney was in the process of setting me up 2 different accounts when I called and we caught it. They were able to fix the problem, and I have one membership number. It wouldn't hurt to put your membership number on your signed contract so that Disney will see it and add the points to your existing account.
