Trying to decide wether or not to switch our flight! We are sailing on November 2, therefore we are flying in that morning on Spirit airlines out of Atlantic City. There is only 1 morning flight leaving at 7a.m, which means we will have to leave for airport at 4a.m.!!
If we change our flight to Friday, it will cost 50.00 per person(4), but i would feel much better not worrying about delays or getting the kids up so early. But do I want to spend 200.00 on this? I wish I read these boards before i booked the airfare!

In addition you would have the cost of accomodations for friday night as well. I really loved having an entire day before the cruise to chill out -- to me I guess it would be worth it.
:D

I am paranoid about arriving on time, especially after 9/11, so now we fly out the day before for all of our trips. Does Spirit have any later flights the day of your cruise, or is 7 a.m. the only one? If so, I would be worried because if something happens to cause that flight to be cancelled, you will have a big problem. As paranoid as I am, I would probably book the night before flight, even with the cost difference. You can get an MCO area hotel for pretty cheap ($25 to $28) via Priceline or Hotwire. That's what we do...shuttle is included, and sometimes they have free breakfast, too, depending on the hotel. We love getting there the day before and getting a good night's sleep. We take Happy Limo over to the port in the morning, well rested and ready to go (if you are planning to use the Disney buses, that makes a slight complication as you will have to go back to the airport or pay the big bucks to stay at the Hyatt there).

Thanks Barb and Jody!
Yes, Spirit does have a later flight, but much later! We are going to take a towncar or limo to the port. I have never used priceline for a hotel before, do you just put the city in which you need a hotel in? Thanks for your help, Maryann

With Priceline, you will want to specify that you want an MCO-area hotel (they let you choose one or more areas). You might want to check out Hotwire first to get an idea of the prices. They will give you prices and amenities (although not the hotel names) without a commitment. With Priceline, once your bid is accepted, it's binding. We've gotten the LaQuinta and Renaissance through them and the Amerisuites through Hotwire (you can tell which one that is by the amenities, even tho' you don't see the name).
