Need help on deciding what park to do half a day on arrival day?

I would do HS. Epcot really is a full day, you would miss a lot if you skip World Showcase. Is there a particular reason you wouldn't do it?
HS is something we've done in half a day but being there at rope drop to do main rides without FPs and then using FPs for other things. We've done Fantasmic once with the dinner package and as DD said 'It was ok. No need to do it again.' The rides/attractions you are looking at for HS we've not experienced huge waits for other than RRC.
We've never been for Frozen stuff so I'm not sure how that will effect you.
We are leaning towards HS. I guess I should of posted a post asking if a half of day is enough for experiencing all they have to offer for Frozen Summer Fun.

Here's a video of the Frozen Processional. Maybe it will help you with your decision.

i guess my kids are the oddity here... They love DHS. They always insist on two days here. They love TSM, RNR, TOT, Star Tours, Jedi Training, GMR, Muppets, Ariel, Animation Academy, BNB, and the list goes on and on. The could use a whole day just for characters here. They don't like Epcot much. My husband and I like better than they do... it always gets cut to one day if it is up to them.

We do HS on our arrival day. We do almost everything we want to see there with time to spare.

Epcot is a 2-day park unless you go at rope drop and rush around.

I think we will do HS or arrival day but would like to have some more information on if half a day is long enough to enjoy all the summer fun activities.

We did Frozen Summer Fun last year. Now that the singalong is a standard attraction, really the only thing that's really going to be special is the procession and the fireworks. They're adding a second procession this year, so presumably it will be later in the afternoon, so conceivably you could do everything in a half day. You could easily fit in the procession, the singlong, and the fireworks in the second half of the day. The procession is really short...10 minutes max.

FWIW, you won't need a FP+ for the Great Movie Ride . Most people choose one of the other Tier 1 options over it so waits stay fairly low. We walked right onto it in December.

Thanks ! That's good they are adding another procession :) Ok that's good to hear about the Great Movie Ride ! We decided to do HS our first day. Do they have fastpass for the sing a long or fireworks ?

I would do Animal Kingdom if it was open later:rotfl:

Actually you can get a ton done on late arrival at Animal Kingdom even with the early close. 2 trips ago we did this and rode everything (multiple times) pull FP+ for Safari, EE and one more (Kali usually for us). hit a show, knock out some of the smaller attractions and use the FPs. easywdw has a late afternoon arrival plan that is pretty spot on. Something to think about.

For us, we would probably do Epcot as it is probably my DD's least favorite park. Soarin, TT, Misson Space, Figment, Spaceship Earth and maybe Living with the Land/Nemo just because and she is ready to go.

At the studios she will have repeat rides of TOT, RNR, GMR and the drawing class. The Frozen stuff this year (maybe), the shows and secondary attractions, along with F! and a break midday for the pool and we have a busy day for our last park day of this trip.

Fireworks and FP+ are an unknown right now, but I don't think they'd offer it and it would also be a wasted FP+, IMO. DHS just isn't that big and there are plenty of good places to stand to see fireworks, especially now that the hat is gone. They didn't have FP+ for the fireworks last year, but they did have a premium package wherein you got a reserved area for the procession and fireworks, snacks during the procession, and a dessert party for the fireworks, plus you got reserved seating in the first few rows of the theatre for a singalong of your choice. It was affordable(ish) last year, but pricing hasn't been announced for this year yet. I assume they're not going to offer FP+ for the fireworks when they've essentially monetized it with the premium package. DHS isn't like MK where there would be a lot of space to offer both a FP+ area and a dessert party.

The singalong is an option for a Tier 2 FP+.

I would choose DHS. I think you can a lot done in half a day if you aren't trying to do both TSMM and RnR. Although, you could skip dinner at Sci Fi if you were short on time. I also can't imagine spending less time at Epcot.

We will not be doing TSMM but will do RnR. My DGD loves Sci Fi so it is a must when we go. Ok I have decided on arrival day to be HS now to figure out the rest of our park days:rotfl:
