Been contemplating between spending our whole trip at Pop or upgrading to Poly for a few nights. Always wanted to stay there, but money is always tight. :paw:

This year, I have an AP and MIGHT (and I use the term loosely) be able to get an AP rate for the Poly. Any idea about how much that would be? We are going the 2nd week of Nov.

I'm thinking that if I could get the AP rate, it might be more affordable. I would want just a regular room, but don't know how much it would be. Anyone help me out please? :goodvibes

LUVDISNEY999,

As you note, there may or may not be AP discounts other than the AP Best Rate Program. Were it to be, the current discounts for deluxe resorts is $70-75 off rack. The "Best Rate Plan" for Dec 18 (120 days from today) is $70 off of rack for garden view Poly. The second week of Nov. is in "Regular' season - rack rate for garden view Poly is $354; so the best one would expect would be $284 ($354-$70), plus tax ($284*1.115=$317). The BIG question remains - How will traditional AP rates compare with "Best Rate" ? Hard to believe discount rates would be the same, but possible. If you booked using "Best Rate " program, you have guaranteed room and best rate (and also the guaranteed nonrefundable one-night room deposit charge were you to cancel). I would expect discounts to be $5-$10 less than "Best Rates", but this is purely my guess.
This is an aside to your question, but when I was checking rates to answer your question, "Best Rates" showed $782 for 3 nights for garden-view Poly ( 782/3=260.67 per night with tax; 260.67/1.115=234 per night without tax; $70 less than $304 value season rack; BUT, put in Dec.23-26 clearly in holiday season when rack is $484 for this room, and the system gave the same price - $234 per night; this is more than 50% off rack at a time when the Mickey Monitor said was backout dates!). Go figure!

It all depend on how much time you will be spending at the resort. We usually stay @ a value resort and we love it :cool1:  :Pinkbounc  !!!!! One time we stayed @ French Quarters and although DH ::MickeyMo and myself ::MinnieMo loved it my DS :earsboy: and DD princess: said that they would have rather stayed at Pop Century the only thing they did like @ French Quarters was that the pool had a slide. We spend most of our time at the parks and by the time we go back to our resort the kids might go to the pool for a hour or so and after that it's we hit the showers and the beds.
