Need help making a rhinestone shirt....

Title says it all. I see all these awesome shirts and with three kids, I just cant afford buying the custom ones that I have seen. Does anyone have any tips or instructions on how to make these? I just cant figure out if I want to do a full Mickey head how I would be sure to get the stones in just the right places in order to fill up the silloutte correctly Any help would be appreciated!
