We will be in WDW August 9-16 and right now are staying at CSR. We stayed at CSR two years ago for a short trip and loved it but I am thinking of changing our reservation to the ASMu. One of the reasons is $. I have a had a couple of unexpected things pop up in the past month that ate into my vacation budget. If we stay with CSR then we may have to get 5day hoppers rather than APs this year. DD turns 10 after this visit and so next years trip will be a bit more expensive if we don't get APs. We are also always on a pretty tight budget but after three trips in the past three years we know what we actually spend.

The kids would like to stay at the ASmu since we haven't stayed there yet and they really liked movies and sports. My only concern is crowded buses. Since we drive down I really like to take it easy on vacation and use the buses instead of driving.

I guess I know what I should do but I would like to hear other opinions. I keep going back and forth on this and am having a hard time making a decission. We got a postcard rate for CSR and really would need to get a great rate at AS to save any money.

My DGD and I stayed at ASMu last year. I was leary to stay there but ended up liking it really well....my DGD of course loved it there. I'm not sure, but I think the codes for that time have already expired haven't they? If you got a good rate at CSR and there are no more code opportunities wouldn't the cost of the two be about the same? If that is the case, then stick with your CSR ressies, of course. Do you have time to put together a yard sale or any other means to make up the $$ of the unexpected expenses? I know from reading your posts that you already have a tight food budget, so I'm not going to sugest to cut that down instead. I guess the spa treatments out, huh. I guess you could aways call & see if you could still get a deal at ASMu. Good luck & let us know how it works out.

You're right jennymouse there aren't even any good rates on the AS right now. My postcard rate is $89 and the AP rate listed on mousesavers is $70.

We are planning a garage sale in two weeks so that may help out a lot. I want to save some of my extras, like the spa visit.

Well, AP rate at ASMu would save you almost $200 for the eight nights. That's a pretty good chunk.

I know where your coming from. My Dfamily and I have ressies for ASMo in Oct. but I was thinking of changing to CBR or a deluxe if I could get a good price. But after posting and seeing if people think it's worth it I decided to stay at AS. I figure we can stay longer (2 weeks) and still save enough that we can bring back more. So I would say call and explain to them and see if you can get a good rate for AS instead of CS.
About the bus situation. I felt the same way but we had no choice last year we had to stay at AS. We decided to give our DVC points to our families and we'd stay at AS. I always saw a lot of people waiting for buses and thought we would have a bad time due to the bus situatuation. But we didn't I know that it looks awful at first but you really don't wait for buses at all. We found that at park closing time there looks like a lot of people are waiting but when one bus come there are 3 more behind it. I actually found the AS to have the best trans. of all.
