Hi all!

I am trying to plan our meals for our January trip, Xmas present for our 2 nieces. We have 4 mornings so I thought I would start each day with a bang and a character meal. We are staying at the Poly so taking that into consideration for transportation. The only character meals we did with them were the Princess breakfast in Norway which they loved and Chef Mickeys dinner which they did not like the food and Goofy scared the life out of the little one.

So I need 4, help me pick and give me your good, bad and ugly!

Subbing since I'm finalizing our character meals. But thought I'd throw out 1900 Park Faire for Cinderella and the stepsisters. My DD is 3 and seeing the stepsisters will be a thrill for her. Right now our plans are CRT, 1900 PF, Storybook Princess in Norway and Crystal Palace (5yo DS request who otherwise doesn't care).

We did the 1900 PF once and the food was terrible and the noise level was insane...the characters for dinner are Cindy but for breakfast they are Pooh, Tigger, Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter.

I know for sure that I want Cindys, we have never been before and I think the girls would get a huge kick out of it.

I would base your decision on who the kids like the most and how old they are.

If they like princesses, I'd go with the Norway breakfast. We were there last July when the parks were more crowded than I've ever seen and this was still a great place to eat. The food was very, very good and the service was great also. There was plenty of princess interaction also. It will probably be even better in January with lighter crowds. the only drawback is no cinderella, but meeting the others will make up for it.

If Mickey and pals are more important, try Chef Mickey's. We never ate breakfast there but had dinner and really liked it. Most places do a better breakfast than dinner.

The place i'd recommend the most is the Crystal Palace Pooh breakfast. The food is the best on property and the interaction with Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, etc is always top notch. We will never go to WDW and miss this breakfast.

I can't speak for the new Tusker House because they changed it over after we left but we are definitely going to try it for our next trip.

I guess in summary, I'd do it in this order unless the kids prefer another set of characters:

1. Crystal Palace
2. Norway Princess
3. Chef Mickey's
4. Tusker House

Being that you have girls, this is the order we would select:

1. CRT (we've never done because we had boys and they would not be caught "dead" having a meal with princesses :lmao: )
2. Crystal Palace for breakfast (the puffed french toast is to die for and, of course, there is Pooh, Eeyore and Tigger and Piglet
3. Cape May (we've never done, but because of your reviews we are doing that this year)
4. I leave to you. I wasn't impressed with lunch at Norway, Chef Mickey's is hit or miss. We have not done Ohana since they changed it from Minnie's Menehue Character Breakfast because 1) we life the buffet over the family style because there are certain things we don't eat on a "family style" and 2) we do not like Lilo & Stitch at all.

By the time we go the girls will have just turned 6 and right about to turn 13.

The little one is easy to please as she loves all the characters except Goofy, she still remembers how scary he was to her.

The older one is getting into her moody mode now, when the little one wants to watch the Dis cartoons she gets antsy and would rather watch the Hannah Montana type shows.

For sure we need to do breakfast since that is the only meal the girls are not picky about.

This is a tough one because the older one may not like the character meals like the little one. DH said that I should take the little one to a breakfast while DH splits up with the older one to ride the rides and stuff but I dont think that is a good idea...what do you think?

The reason I am glad we did not have girls--the "moody mode". Or as I my DH calls them: "helium moments". :rotfl2:

Why don't you do half and half. 2 character meals and 2 breakfast buffets. We know you LOVE Boma. So why not do CRT and Crystal Palace and then Boma and another one without characters?

Omigod you have no idea, its like once she hit 12 look out...she flips on things like a switch, makes me pull out my hair!

So you know me so well, yes we love Boma! but I dont think the girls will be too thrilled with sitting still for a meal without the character interaction, especially the little one. DH doesnt want to waste alot of park time waiting in lines for the characters (but then again it is late January how long can the lines be?) so the character meals might be must dos

I am the mother of three girls two 10 year olds and one turning 13 this month. Thank goodness the moodiness hasn't been too bad yet! And I do say yet! We are not early people, but we do like all breakfast foods. Our last trip we did two character breakfast, Ohana and Donald's Restaurantasaurus (not there now or moved to Tusker House). We enjoyed Ohana far more than Donald's. I know someone mentioned not liking Lilo and Stitch and this is not one of our favorite movies either. Lilo is very cute though. Mickey and Pluto were there also. I think we all liked it more because the food was brought out family style. There was a lot of fresh fruit. And the atmosphere was calmer and it's a beautiful place. It would be nice for you all being that you are staying at the Poly. This year we are only doing one breakfast TS and we chose Crystal Palace. Well, my oldest dd did after reading posts on the dis, yes thumbs up. She wanted an early adr to see the park before it opens. So, we are going to be there at 8:05. This is miraculous since as some of you know a thing about 13 yr. olds, they do like there sleep! And she was more than willing to give it up for this. Why don't you ask the 13 yr. old to help you pick. I know the 3 yr old will like any of them!! Good luck and have fun!

I am thinking the 2 winners so far are Cindys and Ohana and they will both be super easy to get to since we are staying at the Poly.

I would love to involve the older one on the plans but it is a a surprise Xmas gift for the girls and this time my sister swore she would keep it a secret. I have to make my ADRs at the end of this month so I am really trying to narrow it down.

I do like the idea of the family style service, much easier than a buffet and because of this I am contemplating the Princess Norway one again even though they already did this one before.

The little one is in love with Minnie and Daisy so if I can get them both at the Tusker House we will have a winner!

We love CP breakfast and it would be so easy to get to but I have to check with my sister and see if the kids are into Pooh and the gang...

Did I mention how much work it is planning with kids, but then again you all probably knew that already! ;)

Wow, great surprise! I know all 13 year olds are different, but mine would love anywhere and anything at Disney. I think we tend to overthink all of our meal choices. I know we do. I made our adr's in March and I was looking at our agenda the other day and was already second guessing things. I'm not changing a thing though. It'll all be fine!! Have fun with the planning and don't stress too much!
