I'm planning a 4 day/3 night trip for mid December. I'm a WDW vet but this is only my second trip to Disneyland. Right now, I'm looking at sometime Dec. 11- Dec. 23. My 7 month window with DVC is starting to open up in a couple of day and had a couple of question before finalizing dates. Although the dates I get may be luck of the draw as popular as VGC is. I know the weekends are going to be busy but is there any disadvantage to booking a Monday - Thursday trip. Will all the Christmas activities be going on sometime Monday - Thursday or are some things exclusively on the weekends? Also, will the crowds be significantly worse all week Dec. 19 - 23? When do Southern California schools let out for winter break on average? I'm hoping to be getting a new job that may effect the first part of the week of Dec 11.

I don't know when the southern California schools get out but I would expect them to have that week off. My kids are in northern California and have Dec. 19 - January 2 off school.

December 19th - 23rd would definitely be the first few days off of school for Southern California locals also. The last few weeks of December are blacked out on the So Cal AP, so that might help!

Dec 19 - Jan 1 are the only dates blocked out on the Signature annual pass. There used to just be a premium annual pass with no block out days, but they split that out into two price points now: the Signature plus with no block out dates and the Signature with the Christmas/New Year's two week period blocked out. That is the busiest time of the year at the resort.
