Hi,

I've searched & searched all over these boards & just can't figure out where to dine for my DD 8th birthday in March! We are doing the QDS plan for the first 8 days of our 1st trip to DW. We will be off the plan for my DD b-day on Saturday & will also be at MK for her b-day.

We do not have any character dinings planned & I'm wondering if I should at least do 1? If so, which on is the best for the value, food & characters? It could be for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

If not, where would you go for TS in MK or close to MK that would be a good b-day place for my DD? Ohanas? Again, we are flexible so it could be breakfast, lunch or dinner.........

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Sue

We love Crystal Palace. There is a great selection of food, and we think the charachter interaction is great. We took DS for his 5th birthday, and they had the table covered in birthday confetti, and made a big deal of his bday. We had purchased a cake, and Pooh and Friends brought the cake to the table and stayed while we sang Happy Birthday. If your DD likes Pooh, or any of his buddies, this would be a great idea as well.

we have celebrated two birthdays at Crystal Palace.......both adults.....my sil and then this past September my hubby.....we had a great time....they put mickey mouse confetti on the table and spiral thingies.....and they brought a little cup cake with a candle on it.......a card signed by all the characters there....we had a great time.....besides the food is great for dinner....we love it and go back when it is just us adults....

Does your daughter have a favorite character? Does she like princesses? Unless you are surprising her with this meal I would ask her. Character meals can be lots of fun, just realize that there is no guarantee the restaurant will do anything special (sometimes they do, sometimes they don't). Unless you pay for it of course. :)

If your DD is a Cinderella fan, 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian has good food at their Cinderella character Buffet. We've eaten there for breakfast and dinner and were very pleased with both.

Well, it depends on what you really are hoping for. If it's a character meal, IMO Chef Mickey's was a good one with the birthday cupcake and candle and everything. 1900 Park Fare didn't do much for any birthdays. I don't think it was just because we were off in the side room, they didn't seem to make a deal out of any birthdays.
If it doesn't need to be a character one, I thought The Plaza in MK was really great. Both my girls (we were celebrating both birthdays) got a beautiful yummy cake with a candle. Everyone celebrating birthdays at that time (there were 3 other people) got sung too and the Mayor came over for a birthday congrats and his friends sprinkled the girls with mickey confetti.
The cake there was really the best of all of the places we went all week.
