Sorry this might be off topic.

My cat is getting old and peeing everywhere. grrrr!

I need to remove cat pee odor from a carpet. Does anyone no a good product or household remedy to remove cat pee from carpet?

thanks in advance.

andrew

I use Petzyme that you buy at petsmart. It really works! Make sure you satuate the area and just let it dry.

pull out the carpet, replace the subfloors and start over.

That's what my MIL had to do - including replacing the carpet. In the summer, when it was humid, the smell would make you gag!!!!

If they made perfume that would last as long as Cat Pee they'd make a FORTUNE! Good luck, short of removing the carpet, underpad and yes, subfloor I've never found the solution!

Meanwhile, has Kitty been checked for Urinary tract issues? Poor baby..

I've had some luck with the products at Planet Urine http://www.planeturine.com/

(go there when you can stop laughing at the name - lol)

...but ultimately, we also had to replace the carpet. :(

My latest weapon in the cat pee battle is the book Starting from Scratch which deals with behavior problems in adult cats.

It's about $10 on Amazon. I'm trying the things it says even now. I'm hoping it will save our new floors from meeting the fate of the old carpet...
