Need Help - Historical rack rates at Deluxe Resorts

I'm in the process of trying to do a financial evaluation of DVC membership, and I'm wondering if anyone has any data on historical rack rates at the deluxe resorts so I can calculate room rate inflation for use in my evaluation. I know people use anywhere from a 4-10% increase in their assumptions - but I want to get a better idea of actual rack rate inflation.

StevieD, Why figure in the rack rates? If you have the knowledge to get to this sight you probably have the knowledge to get cheaper rates. There are lots of ways to save on lodging.

We have also looked into the DVC. Have you figured in the maintenance fees? We haven't gotten to that stage yet. Still wondering if we want to make disney a yearly trip.

Good luck Stevie, I,ve put a pencil to it alot of differant ways, and the only way it comes out is if you have the capital to buy your points up front with no finance charge. Otherwise, you can stay at a deluxe each year, and have housekeeping make your bed and clean your room each day.
There are alot of valid arguments on the dvc board. Maybe they can help. You'll need to calculated the annual increases in the maintenance fee as well.

I think the best you're going to do is find 2001 prices on some old web sites. You could at least have to '01 to '02 % increase.

DVC might have the historcial pricing for you. I would think they might keep track of that to use as a selling point.

I have a 92 or 93 edition of Birnbaum's Official Guide. Would you like me to look up some rack rates for you? Tell me which resorts you want to know about. If you want all of them, say so, it's not a problem.
