I just bought a beautiful desk for my self - however I don't think. Its a desk that more like a table (no privacy panel in front) I HATE that you can see the cords, power surge, electrical cords when you walk in.

I was thinking a getting a fireplace screen to place in front, but they're a bit transparent. What I need is those room dividers, but only need it to be about 36 inches.

The ideal thing would be if DH and I were handy, we could make one with shutters and hinges - place material or some mission style woodwork, but we're not handy, so thats MOOT

I've tried google and all I get are the full room dividers. Any thoughts?

You might look for woodworkers on Craigslist and contact a few and see what it would cost to have modifications done. You could ask to see photos of work they have done which might be similar.

What about making a small curtain? You could choose pretty fabric and do a very basic one which threads onto a small curtain rod suspended over the open side ( you know the type...a hook either side of the opening and a wire rod hooked on to the hooks). You could change them as the mood suits and yet you'd still have easy access for cleaning or unplugging etc. Just a thought:)

What about getting some of the cord hider stuff--the black tube stuff that you thread all your cords through to contain them, then covering that in a pretty fabric?
