Need help from the experts... what's the catch?

You do realize that every single entry is a winner, right? Not only that, but if/when you say no thank you, they will keep calling for a while! I've told my kids to PLEASE not fill them out!

this happened to my friends and me last summer. we were at a concert tailgating and they made it seem like it was a very legit contest, in fact i felt it was really sneaky because there were legitimate companies there associated with the artist that were doing freebies and contests and they snuck in with them. my friend got the call at first and was excited and then called back. they then went into the you must show up for a presentation and thats when she realized what it was. i got the calls a week later, and was very polite but firm in telling them thank you but i am not interested in time shares. they actually lied and tried to say it was real, i really won!:cool1: well i then very firmly told them all my friends got the same call and that i was not going to any timeshare presentation to redeem my free trip. guess what? they hung up!:rotfl2:

i think its a personal decision. i work long days and odd hours and some vacation with a million strings attached is not worth my free time. if you have the time then go for it as long as you understand they call the shots and tell you when/how to vacation.

It is real, you did win, but so did everyone else. lol No one calls the shots as to your actual vacation when you have a timeshare, they only call the shots on the freebie that you get. :) Just to clarify.

I'd be interested in knowing just how many people get in and out in 90 minutes. Bob Sehlinger has a section in his Unofficial Guide about a couple who do the timeshare and how intense it is, how long it lasts and sales tactics they use. It was interesting.

We've been in and out in 90 minutes, just not on our most recent visit.....

Just remember, timeshares in Orlando are almost literally a dime a dozen. Don't pay thousands of dollars, people are willing to give them away.

We bought our timeshares-NOT in Orlando!!-for $1 each. I mention that to give you an idea of how cheap they are, and why you should not buy from the developer.

I totally agree. My FIL has an Orlando timeshare tradable at top level with RCI and it is still worthless. We will give it away to anyone that wants it but have no takers. Timeshares come with a lifetime commitment to pay a maintenance fee. The maintenance fee is often higher than what you can rent the same property for. You can never get out of it, unless you allow them to foreclose. Now that he has no need for a credit rating, that is exactly what he is doing.

We did one at myrtle beach. It was NOT 90 minutes. We went in our bathing suits, took all 3 children, and told them we are NOT BUYING and it still took FOREVER!! And, when they figured out we were really NOT BUYING, they got very hateful!

We will not do one again!
