Need help from the DLR Pros!

I'm planning a week long trip in May and need DLR advice from the pros.

Some factors:
We are a family of 4 with a daughter who will be 5 and a son 3. Plan to use the pools. Can you pool hop at DLR?
I've stayed at the Grand California and loved it, haven't stayed at the DLH since the 80's.
Have never stayed Concierge at DLR, is it a nice perk? I'm staying on DVC points that I have to burn, so cost isn't a factor.
Can you see fireworks from rooms with a Downtown Disney view?
Bunk Beds sound interesting for the kids

My options are:
Grand California Concierge Garden View
Grand California Cal Adv/Pool View
Grand California DDD View
DLH Concierge

What should I choose? Thanks in advance!

If cost isn't an issue I'd stay GCH conceirge! I love it! You can go grab snacks and water/drinks on your way to the park each morning. They have a balcony to watch the fireworks at night if you can't be in the park. They have story time for the kiddies each night too, which is neat. Also have desserts. We stopped fairly often, each time we came or went from the hotel. Also you can check out a disney movie and watch it in your room each night at no charge...we always fall asleep to a disney movie I love it

I agree! If money is not an issue, I would go for the GC Concierge. However, our favorite rooms at the GC when we cant splurge for concierge are the Downtown Disney view rooms. You can see the fireworks from your balcony, and watching Downtown Disney wake up each morning is so peaceful and relaxing. They are a LONG walk from the elevators, but well worth it in my opinion

Totally true. I also enjoy the DTD disney rooms. I like hearing the music and seeing disney "get up for the day". It is quiet in your room when you have the glass door closed so no worries there. I do enjoy the themepark view as well but now with DVC construction I am not sure I would want it. If you can request and get a room on the other side over looking Grizzly then I might do that. The selection of snacks and treats in the lounge were nice. It is worth doing at least once! Also we were greeted each time we walked by the desk on that floor...it is nice

I have stayed at all but the DLH concierge. The last was DTD view & we were able to see the fireworks & yes, I enjoyed waking up to see the quiet outside @ DTD. But I still long for the days when we stayed @ GCH concierge! At the time, my 2 older sons were teenagers and we saved so much money just on waters and snacks alone. The water comes in small plastic bottles so you can take them into the park. My fav was the warm scones and jam during teatime. . With the little ones, you can get cereal, fruit & milk or juice in the am and get right to the park. The desserts, including the chocolate dipped strawberries, are yummy!
The pool at either is nice. My 8 yr old likes the slide more at the GCH.
The easy entry into CA Adv is nice @ GCH. To get to DLR it is 50/50 to go either through the main gate or to the monorail from GCH as well.
My vote if you have points to use go concierge @ GCH
