Hi everyone! We are 8 days away from our trip and I am wondering what to pack.

We have never been to California. Everyone always says "it's not the heat, it's the humidity" so I'm unsure about packing our suitcases based on the weather.com temperatures.

What do you typically wear on a normal October day to DL? Jeans and tee-shirt? Shorts and shirt? Bring a sweatshirt or sweater for the kids? Help! :confused3

Thank you very much!

I'm not sure who you've talked to about California weather, but there's absolutely no humidity, unless you count the rain that pops up once in a while.

California weather can be so variable. Growing up on the West Coast, my mom always told me to "dress like an onion" -- in layers you can peel off all day. I'd recommend jeans or lightweight pants, but bring a couple of pairs of shorts in case you get a couple of really warm days. Wear a t-shirt with a sweatshirt or jacket over.

The average high temperature for Anaheim in October is 80 degrees, and the average low is 56. As you can see, the temperature fluctuates a lot over the course of the day (don't expect that East Coast/Southern phenomenon of "hot and humid during the day, still warm at night").

Yeah, humidity is almost nonexistent here except for maybe a day or two during the summer. In fact, during the time you're going it may be dry or it could be raining. As a matter of fact, it rained yesterday for like 30 minutes then it stopped and was sunny for the rest of the afternoon. WDWhoneymooner gave some great advice. Dress in layers. As a matter of fact, when I dropped off my son this morning to school, he was wearing those zip off pants because it was cool(well, for our standards :rolleyes1 ) this morning but will probably warm up a bit during the day. But definitely expect cool evenings. Also, check the weather reports prior to your departure so you can get an idea of how it will be like.

Either way, have a great trip!

Ditto what the previous posters said, but just want to reiterate to bring a medium weight jacket or sweatshirt for the evenings. Once the sun goes down, it can get cold. Overall October is a very mild month and should be perfect park weather.

Have a wonderful trip :flower:

Sorry, I should have re-read my post before I posted. Yes, I meant that here in the South, it's not the heat but the humidity... and that I'm used to dressing for that problem.

Thank you for your replies. I am looking forward to this trip so much!

What everyone else said- you will freeze after dark. My grandparents had a thermometer on their back patio and you could watch the temp drop dramatically once it hit evening hours. When we visited in early November once, I had to buy my some a sweatshirt at DL one night because he was dressed for warmer weather.

So. Cal IS humid if you are coming from Arizona/S. Nevada, but not from other areas- especially not Atlanta- LOL- but I see what you are saying. We did a cross country trip once (starting in Memphis and then New Orleans and heading West.) After our time in Arizona and Las Vegas, I was surprised that California seemed muggy!
