I have to interview some applicants for an accountant position. Since I'm not an accountant or an Excel wiz, I'm having difficulty coming up with some questions. Mainly I need to know the candidates have a good understanding of Microsoft Excel and can use the advanced tools. Can anyone come up with a couple good questions to ask, both open-ended and specific? Thanks!!

Specific: Ask them if they know how to do a VLOOKUP

General: Ask them how much experience they have with Macros. :)

My knowledge of Excel is basic. I primarily use it for building spreadsheets and linking spreadsheets together. If you just need basic use, question them on why type of spreadsheets they have built in the past. What formulas did they have to use in the building of the sheets. I do quite a bit of linking in my job and the use of basic formulas.
