I have thin baby fine hair. I color it myself.
My problem is winter. In the winter my hair becomes very fly away, staticy and dry. If I brush it or even wave the brush near my hair it will stand straight up because of static. It drives me crazy because I can't do anything with it. during the day my hair will stick to my face, especially my bangs, and that is so irritating.
I bought leave in conditioner but that doesn't help, all it does is weigh down my already thin hair.
Today I went into the store to see if anything might help but everything had alcohol in it and that is even more drying. I couldn't find anything that said "for dry flyaway hair" Everything that said for dry hair was for dry, thick, or curly hair. Mine is straight and won't hold a curl even with the curling iron. (it is too short right now for a curling iron anyway)
I did wind up buying shampoo and conditioner with morrocan oil and will try it tomorrow.

I had the same issue with DD's hair (but her's is thick and she has a ton of hair), and my hairdresser suggested leave-in conditioner or using just a dab of Jergen's (or similar) lotion. The conditioner didn't do as good of a job, but the lotion is really helping. Good luck! :goodvibes

We replaced our furnace last spring and added a whole house humidifier. It has done wonders for preventing the usual winter dry skin and staticky hair. You might want to consider getting a room humidifier for your house (Crane makes good ones). It will at least help when you're at home.

I also suggest a humidifier. I have the same problem in the winter months when it gets cooler here in Miami. I have a small humidifier in my room that I turn on during the especially cool nights/mornings and it works wonders!

And of course leave in conditioner helps too.

Nexus has humetress, rub a pea size on the hand , rub your brush through it, or your hands through the hair. No oil, just moisture to calm static. I stay away from the oils, too heavy for my fine hair.
This can be used as a conditioner too during shampoo. I have found it at Walmart and drug stores too. Use to be salon only.
