Need help for a friend looking for educational DVDs

for her almost-4 yr old...numbers, colors, ABCs, etc. THank you!

leapfrog has a series for learning to read and the first one letter factory teaches letter recognition and letter sound. Math circus dvd also by leapfrog goes over number recognition counting basic addition and maybe subtraction. If the child has a favorite character some of them has good educational videos like Barney goes to school, Blue takes you to school etc. I really liked Richard Scarry's Best learning Songs Ever. Sesame St probably has several videos which may be educational.

Not a video but Dr. Seuss's ABC's is a great book for teaching the alphabet.

Spending a bit of time looking at books like Dr. Seuss's ABC book, working with colored paper, and counting blocks works wonders. We counted everything with the kids. Stair steps, cookies, placemats, etc.

That was my advice too...learning should be done through every day activities.

I wanted to say something along those lines too, but... . What about some of the preschool computer games? At least the child would be doing something somewhat active then??
