Hey All

My wife and I are headed to Orlando for 11 days and 11 nights on June 15th through Jun 26th

We currently have split our stay between 4 nights at the Radisson Orlando Celebration and then 7 nights through a time share from family at the vacation village at parkway.

However I have been reading reviews non stop on both and it has not been pretty. The only positive part is between the two I am staying 11 nights for about $630.00

It is not to late for me to get my money back on both. So I am considering booking somewhere else but really can not afford more then $70 to $80 dollars per night. Can you guys throw out some recommendations on places that are actually CLEAN and spacious. Almost all of the trip will be outside the hotel for the most part so on site ammenities do not matter to us,

So far I found this hotel for $71 per night (Comfort Suites Maingate East).

Does anyone know anything about this place (Tripadvisor ranks it #6) or recommend some other places.

Thanks

I just put in your date on Hotwire.com
You can get a 4* for 74.00 a night.
3.5* for 52.00 a night both are in Downtdown Disney area.
I think the 3.5 is Regal Sun Resort very close to DTD.
I would stay at any of the 4* for that price
They also list a 3* condo for 42.00 a night

You can probally pinpoint which hotels/ resorts these are here but comparing aminities

I have saved tons of money using hotwire and priceline. always 3or 4 * and never been disapointed.

Good luck in your seach. There are alot of good deals out there as long as you have a car.

You are correct. You do not know what you are getting with hotwire or priceline until you have paid.
You can try travelzoo.com They have some great Orlando deals right now.

We stayed at Comfort Suites Maingate East 3 times (although it has been at least 4 years.) We liked the hotel and have nothing negative to say about it. The breakfast buffet was fabulous. And it was an easy drive to the Disney parks.

Do you have AAA. I plugged in AAA rates at Regal Sun and it was about $79, plus tax and resort fees. If you want to spend a little more Mousesavers has some reasonable ($99) rates at Caribe Royal and mousesavers rates at Hotel Royal Plaza was about $80 a night.

HTH.

Just do a search for Comfort Suites Maingate East you will alot good reviews for this place.

I also I would check FairField Inn by marriott on Canada Avenue they have good rates that get with the Orlando magic Card for about 80.00 dollars a night and clean comes with a free breakfast.

With hotwire how do you know where you are staying lol?

kokomos told you how to in their post.

Sites like betterbidding.com list the hotels that are on hotwire & priceline in each city and category. You can usually figure out what hotel is which (especially on hotwire) by doing what kokomos suggested in comparing ammenities.

If I were you, I would check into possibly booking a 2BR at Bonnet Creek. Ken Price has been mentioned very favorably on these boards and is supposed to have great last minute deals. Take a look at this thread - http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2170022&highlight=bonnet+creek+ken+price

I used ebay and got a great deal. If you're comfortable with that, check to see who has what listed right now. If you find one that you like (based on feedback, etc.), contact them and ask them if they could do a special listing for you (ask them what they would charge for your dates). I would NOT rent outside ebay, and I would use a credit card to pay (for extra protection).

Bonnet Creek is absolutely beautiful, and you actually have to drive onsite to get there. They have 1, 2, 3, and 4 BR units with a full kitchen and W/D plus resort amenities. MUCH better than a hotel room. You can request a fireworks view (we watched both MK and Epcot from our balcony each night).

Unless somebody has already booked this reservation and has it available for rent this will be a hard reservation to get. BC is booked for that timeframe and one would have to depend on a cancellation to get it. Not impossible, but tough.

To get a super cheap rate you would have to depend on two cancellations to get it. The 1 BR would have to be booked and then a free upgrade to the 2BR. I wouldn't cancel an existing reservation to depend on this.

You might try looking at the rentals available on www.tug2.net. These are all last minute rentals and price cannot exceed $100/night. You might want to consider joining to have access to the reviews. The reviews of timeshare units on this site are generally more dependable than the ones on trip advisor.

My friends stay there every year and love it, we almost booked it also but went with a Disney porperty instead. They had all good things to say about it also

That's actually what I was told when I started looking at BC back in December (I wanted Christmas week). I had even called and been told they were booked. The ebay seller I contacted was able to get the dates I wanted though and set the auction up for me. I wound up paying about $90 a night for a 2BR. :goodvibes
