She is 5'3" about 100 lbs. She has a long torso I think, because every jacket she tries on is too short. If she gets a larger women's size they're too wide! :confused3
Most stores don't even seem to have petite or junior heavy jackets. I need help! I think she tried on about 30 jackets today and none looked or fit right! I also don't want to spend a ton of money! We saw some that might have worked for like $120!!!
Anybody have any ideas on where else to look?
We looked at Kohls, JcPenney, Sears, ShopKo, Burlington Coat Factory, Walmart. Not sure about ordering online, because I'd be worried they wouldn't fit. Thanks for any help! :)

I got my dd a jacket that she LOVES from Delia's on black friday for about $40? I can't recall it was 30%off the sale price that day.

She is thin and about 5 foot 4 now I bought her a small and it fits great. She loves it wore it today and said it was very warm when we walked around town today and it was COLD 30.
It hits her about hip length I would say. So not long- but not short either.

JC Penney. They have "girls plus" which I believe goes up to 18/20

Have you tried Lands End?

We love their coats. They fit my very slender daughter well. Nice thing is that you can do returns at Sears. The Chevron Down Jacket has been one we've gotten in the past. Just be sure to buy on sale -- they have them every few days.

Lands End or LL Bean would probably be your best bets. Check the girl sizes and you will find one to fit your daughter.

I'll have to check these 2 out, thanks for the advice! I had never heard of Delias, not sure we have one here in Wisconsin, I'll check though. Thanks! :)

My daughter is 11 and exactly your daughters size I just bought her the puffer jacket from Justice size 18 and its perfect...she wears a junior 3 or kids 16 jeans and 18 tops the junior clothes are too short and narrow alot of the time so we still shop justice often

Most stores don't even seem to have petite or junior heavy jacket

that is because most Jr girls won't wear heavy jackets!!

Your dd is at a tough age/size. I lucked out yesterday and FINALLY found a winter jacket for my 14dd long torso kid who is 5'6"
It was at Burlington, which you already looked.

I personally do not think Justice or JP penney plus size will fit your dd. The cut on girls jackets is much different then Jr clothing and she probably will not like those styles (just going off my own 17, 14 and 10 year old girls)

I feel for you...

is also 11, 5'3" and 100lbs.. wears 3/5short from Aero, 'cause she is all torso too. :)

I would definitely look at some girls sizes, as a 16 might fit and be cut differently.

I got her a North Face in a girls XL (it fits me, and I'm a bit taller and heavier) and a Land's End coat http://www.landsend.com/pp/3in1Squa...O&CM_MERCH=IDX_00008__0000000142&origin=index in a S.

Here are a few more.. of course I only checked the sale section. :)

Good luck.. this age/size is a killer. Finding pants that fit, and dresses that are appropriate is not easy either.. and don't even try to talk to me about bathing suits. :(

I got my DD(11) who is just over 5' and about 90 lbs that Lands End jacket in a petite XS and it fits her great. I was able to get it when all overstocks were an extra 20% off too.

I find Lands End is good for swim suits too-my DD still fits into girl sizes for swim suits.

That's exactly what my DD said, jr size girls don't wear coats!
I'm kind of doubting she'll like the Justice or JCPenney girls coats if they do fit, but maybe we'll check it out. Luckily it's not going to be super cold next week, she's been wearing her light jacket and a sweatshirt so far.
