I need to make aprox. business card size/wallet size name lists with parents and phone numbers on back for our hockey team. I have never done this before, even though I have been a manager for years! Someone else always does them at work. This year, it falls on me. Can anyone help? I need to have 16 rows for the players name and number on the front, with parents names/phone numbers on the back. I have googled, ms searched, and am getting nowhere! Once I get over this hurdle, then the "where to laminate" hurdle will begin! I am thinking kinkos can answer that one.

Thank you in advance!
Debbie

Would vistaprint.com work? I get my ebay business cards through them. Also have you checked with office depot/staples/etc to see what they recommend? Sorry I can't be much help, but here's a bump for you.

Thanks for the bump! I'll give this another bump!

Look in Staples/Office Max, etc. They have kits that you can use with your computer that sets up the document already and prints right out of your printer. Avery is a good brand to start looking at.

Here's a Microsoft site: Microsoft Business Card Templates

With 16 sets of names/phones, you may want to try a vertical (portrait) orientation. I pulled up the business card area of my MS Word 2000 program and was able to fit only 8 lines per card using the smallest (8 pt.) font.

If you have MS Office, look under Word, Tools, Envelopes & Labels, Options to get pull-down menu for labels & cards.

Hope this helps.

if you have MS word just go into a new doc, hit tools, envelopes and labels that will bring up another box that lets you chose which type of business cards you want to use ( you can get them very cheap) or if youre just using paper chose any of the business cards.

Then you can buy these:

to make magnets instead of laminating them if youre looking for somewhere to put the info ( like the fridge).

:)

You might need a magnifying glass to read them if you try 16 rows on a wallet size card. I've made the baseball team cards for the last several years but they are 4X6 index card size. I did my own laminating by purchasing clear shelf paper and then cutting to the card size. They stick right on and it's quite simple.

Have everyone buy a pda and just "beam" the info to them :)

16 names on a business sized card is gonna be kinda crowded....is this the way it has been done before? Do you have one from last year? Maybe check with the person that did them last year.

Business card sounds way too small!

Do have a program called Print Artist? This makes business cards, cards, banners, labels, etc
But 16 names on a business card is going to be very small. Maybe 3x5 sized and laminated.

Thank you everyone! I knew I could count on the DIS!
