Need help, don't know where to start

We have had a confirmed reservation for many months for mid-October. I didn't think the trip was going to come together, and was getting ready to cancel my reservation, but now it appears that all may work out after all. We will have 5 nights and 6 days to go in the parks, if we need it, or possibly some time for some day trips.

So, here I am at the last minute trying to pull this trip together. We have only had one trip to DL (this past May), so this will be our first time there during some of the Halloween events. I love WDW during this season, and am looking for some help on special things that happen at DL during this timeframe. Have heard of Happy Haunts, but know nothing about it or when it is offered.

Not sure how often WOC will be showing now that summer is over, but we would love to see that this trip.

I hope this plea for help isn't too generic, and I am hoping to get some info on what we should make sure we get to do while there this time of year. Can you guys show some mercy on me and feed me lots of info. I promise tons of pictures posted in return--hubby is quite good at the photo thing.

One suggestion is that you join us over on the Halloween at DL super thread. It is the hub of all things HalloweenTime! We discuss it all - weather, food, costumes, HalloweenTime decorations and events, etc.

You don't have to read the whole thread (it's way too long), but you might be interested in looking through the photos, as that will give you an excellent idea of what to expect at DLR for Halloween. You can post questions over there and there are lots of experts to answer.

This year is actually going to be a bit of a scaled down Halloween. The last few seasons it was a bigger deal, but because of the work that's going on in DCA, and likely because of all the fuss over WoC, too, Halloween has been slightly downsized. No decorations that we know of will be in DCA this year. Everything will be in DL.

I just went and checked the park hours on the DL calendar, and it appears that all annual passes will be valid during that time, so I am guessing it will be a very busy time, even on the weekdays.

Sherry, thanks, I will hope over to that thread and check it all out.

If you haven't yet, I would suggest buying your Halloween party tickets if you are attending. Make WOC dining ressies if you are going to book one of the dining packages or the picnic option. I believe during weekdays it's only scheduled for one show but that could change if the crowds are big and they usually are around Halloween Time but not unbearable. At least I didn't think so last year. Decide where you want to eat and make those PS's. But don't stress about the dining, it's not like WDW, I've never had a problem getting the seating I wanted even a day or two before we go. Cafe Orleans is my favorite place to eat in DL.
For Halloween stuff, do the Halloween Round-up. It's just a cute area behind BTMRR but they have it all decorated and there is a little cottage that has pumpkin people in various posings and settings.

We definitely want to do a WOC, so I guess I need to figure out if a picnic meal or dinner is best and how to book them. Thanks for the reminder. This was all starting up right after our trip in May, so I didn't have to worry about it before.

The picnic meals need to be reserved online then on the day of the show you pick them up in the afternoon and they give you WoC FPs with the meals.

If you do a WoC dinner you reserve it through the phone, all meal reservations are done by phone except the above mentioned picnics at DLR.

You can also reserve seating for F!, the rest of the viewing is standing only.

Look at the Halloween Party tickets. And get costumes.
