My boyfriend and I recently decided to change our plans of doing a Disney cruise to a week long Disney trip instead. I'm trying to put together restaurants to do every day and need help deciding between a few. I have two days where I'm unsure which restaurant to pick. We are going to be at an Epcot resort those days if that helps. Between the following four which two would you pick?
  • BlueZoo
  • Citricos
  • Yachtsman Steakhouse
  • Flying Fish
I haven't been to any of these, my boyfriend has been to Citricos.

And one of the days we could possibly go see River of Lights, should we do a dining package for this show? Or is that not really necessary?

Thank you!

We love Yachtsman Steakhouse - have never had a bad meal there! Steaks are great!!! And their crème brulee is very good!!! Service has always been really good too!
I haven't been to any of the other three you listed, but I'd suggest either BlueZoo or Flying Fish, since yall are staying at an Epcot resort.

When are yall going? If its not during a busy time, you may not need a dining package for River of Lights. If you were going to eat at one of the restaurants anyway, go ahead and do the package. We are going late May/early June, and we're not doing the package. If the lines are too long for the show, we'll catch it next time we come! I'm not sure how busy Animal Kingdom is going to be that week since Avator is opening the week before....

Have a great trip!!!

We are going to be there May 20-May 26, probably going to the show on May 25 its the only place I can squeeze it in lol. I wasn't sure if it would be busy since that upcoming weekend is memorial day.

If you definitely want to see it this trip, I'd try doing the package. It may be busy leading up to Memorial Day, and of course, the opening of Avator land.
We'll just miss you - we'll be there May 30 - June 9.

I've only heard rave reviews from Tiffins. If you are looking for a signature, sounds like it would be well worth doing a ROL package there.

I would pick bluezoo and Yachtsman, but bluezoo is not on the dining plan if that is a consideration. We didn't have a very good experience at Flying Fish - the food was mediocre and the service was terrible. If you are in the EP area, there is no point in going all the way over to GF to eat IMHO. You may also want to consider Shula's at the Dolphin and, if you are willing to go into a park to eat - Monsieur Paul in EP France or Hollywood Brown Derby in DHS. If you are doing ROL on one of these nights, yes, I would do the Tiffins package. Tiffins is wonderful and it assures you a seat at the show. If you do Tiffins, I would make bluezoo the choice for your second night.

Thank you! You're always so helpful :) Right now I have a food intense trip so I'm trying to trim it down since I know what we are actually going to be doing now. I have Monsieur Paul for a different night, only had two nights couldn't decide which restaurants to pick. I love Shula's, but there is one by me so I'd rather go to a restaurant I can't go to all the time.

I would do Yachtsman Steakhouse and I would definitely do the ROL dining package at Tiffins. Tiffins gets rave reviews and I am dying to try it for myself

Just ate at Tiffins with with ROL package it was fabulous food and bar area and bartenders are great!! I highly recommend it!

Now I really really want to do the Tiffins ROL package. But with 2 teens and a 3yr old, its just way too many extra credits. We'll just have to stick to TH.

Do you like Tusker House? I've never been there and was looking into it since it's the cheaper option

Actually haven't been there - but the food looks appealing to me :) I do like curries, etc. I decided on 10:50am brunch to get the most variety. Plus, even though I'm using DDP, I get to save on tips x 7 people ($46 instead of $71). And my niece adores Mickey so the characters should be fun (even though we'll also see them at our H&V Fantasmic dinner)

I would suggest Yachtsman as well. Fabulous food. I have never been to BlueZoo but I have heard fabulous things about it.

I love Tusker House. The food is good and the atmosphere is fun, it is a good park option.

It seems like Yachtsman is winning out :) Being able to ask everyone's opinions here is so helpful. Especially when I ask my boyfriend what he wants and his response is always "whatever you want is fine"

-- BlueZoo is not part of Disney Dining, and folks believe there are fewer children as a result. Some of the best (mostly seafood) food on Disney property. Capa (inside Four Seasons) can be a similar experience with fewer children and better quality food.

-- Flying Fish & Yachtsman are on the Boardwalk. Pick the menu you prefer, food is comparable.

-- Many folks consider Citrico's to be the best Disney-run Signature. Inside Grand Floridian resort can be romantic, particularly when the jazz band is playing.

-- We enjoy the dining packages because we had to eat anyway. We will be enjoying River of Lights package our next vacation.

Think about after dinner. Disney does not make going resort-to-resort very easy. Consider using taxis (or driving yourself if you don't drink alcohol) or passing through a Park after dinner.....which is why Dining Packages make a great deal of sense for some of us.

Bluezoo, twice. It's outstanding for even a non Disney restaurant. It's a Todd English place of celeb chefs do anything for you.

My DH is not a huge WDW fan and he loves Tusker House! The food is very good! If you need to keep costs down, I would definitely consider the TH ROL package and then do a more expensive EP resort restaurant on your second night. OR, do the Tiffins ROL and consider going to Trattoria al Forno or Capt. Grille for a less-expensive EP area resort meal (both are very good!) We prefer Trattoria only because we really like the atmosphere on the Boardwalk at night and like to get drinks at AbracadaBAR beforehand!

In terms of the ROL package, IMHO, I would do it. Reports are, the lines for standby for the show are very long. We did the Jungle Book dining package last year and it was well worth it. We walked right into the theater seating area without a line and had a great seat. The line for standby the night we went, went all the way into Dinoland.

Thanks for the all the help! We are going to do the Yachtsman and the ROL package at Tusker House
