Ok, I'm so indecisive it's ridiculous lol! Maybe my fellow DVCers can help me. I've gone to WDW the last couple of Decembers bc I love the decorations. This year, we've decided to go to see Halloween. I've seen it, but my mom and dad haven't. Also, we want to try some of the goodies at Food and Wine! I'm a teacher so I can either take off during a school holiday, or take my 3 personal days around a weekend. We'll be in the world for 2 weeks the end of August and seeing pretty much everything, so our main focus will truly be the MK and F & W.

Here are the possibilities, to go for 4 nights 9/28-10/2 over a school break. F & W starts the 30th, so we'd have 2.5 days of seeing that.

Or go for 5 nights 10/14-10/19 and F&W is there every day. The benefit of this time is the longer trip, but if I go on the break (even though it's one day shorter) I can take my personal days for another trip in the spring. (which I would prob do anyway with some slick workings, but with going over the holiday, I wouldn't have to worry).

So what do you all think? Will the end of Sept be less busy than mid-Oct? Being less busy would almost make the one less day almost feel like no difference. And like I said, we're going for 2 weeks the end of August so I'm not worried about seeing everything. I don't need to be eating 24/7 either, so justh having time to sample a bit of this and a bit of that is good enough. Don't drink wine, so that's not important.

What would you do?? Thanks for any help. My addiction is all-consuming lol!!!! :goodvibes

Whatever you decide, do it quick. One of the most popular times of the year because of F&W. I would go in October to bask in the aromas of the whole event.

Good luck and Happy planning.:thumbsup2

I vote longer trip... but only for ..... the longer trip.
I think both times won't be to busy. And if you are going in AUG.. I think more time in between would be good too.

GOOD luck agree with PP book now..

Thank you! I was leaning towards Sept but the more I think about it, I think the later, longer trip will be better! Almost at the 7 month mark, so I'll be calling soon. If nothing is available, then I'll try POFQ bc we love it there!

Given the choice that is mine.

We are going Sept 24-Oct 2...

One of the things that we really wanted to do/see was Oct 1st is the 40th Anniversary of MK opening. I don't know if anything special will be going on, but I would hate to miss it if there was...

I would take the one day shorter trip...(if it means another trip in the spring). Get MK's 40th, 2.5 days of F&W, Cheaper point season and possibly better availability...

We got both BCV for 4 nights at 7 months and BLT for 4 nights at about 8 months...

arthur06 makes a valid point, but I think I'd still go for later trip with more nights. Also, it can sometimes still be pretty hot at end of Sept... I know it's only a couple weeks but The late the better I think... Either way, you are going to have a great time, it's a great time of year to go!

Ahhhhhhh now you have me changing my mind again LOL!! I wonder about the 40th??? I wish there was a way to know. Ugh, I think I'm back at square one LOL :)

I was leaning at recommending the longer trip, but if the shorter one works for you, I wouldn't pass up MK's 40th. It only happens once. And not knowing if they will do anything (or what they will do) only leads to a bigger chance to experience something special.

I would go in September and then take the other trip in the spring. I really enjoy F&G in the spring as well as F&W and the Halloween decorations, party.

I would take the later, longer trip, because Food & Wine is very crowded the opening weekend. And they'll probably just sell a special tshirt for the 40th.

We were at the opening weekend of F&W in '10 and I didn't think it was terribly bad. In fact, we did our first F&W special offerning, a Grand Marnier tasting and dessert presentation and thought it was wonderful.
